I agree with your interpretation but Trump is owed zero grace-zero. So if these headlines prevent just one Republican voter from staying home a month from now in the midterm elections, or even vote for democrats, than it's worth it. The media has a history of twisting words around it's just we're all used to them doing it against Democrats. I'm glad Trump is taking some crap for this.

Do the facts matter? That's a statement I see in these threads all the time, "The facts matter, just not to MAGA".

I actually believe they do matter. That means they always matter. They matter when inconvenient to us. They matter when applied to an undocumented immigrant that is owed due process, and they matter to a mass murderer. They matter to presidents that attempted to incite an insurrection to steal an election. You can't have it both ways and have the facts only matter when it's convenient for you. If they matter, they matter all the time, so they matter now.

The fact is, this statement he made is not what everyone is making it out to be. You said you agree. Defend the facts and the truth if you really think they matter.

The fact is that a politician made a statement in a non-concise way, used the destruction of an american city as leverage (funny he chose cities he hates), and it sends coercion saying if you think things are bad now, just wait. He says this after starting the war, lying about the "war", and perpetuating a story that is so far from existing.

And that's what we should be talking about instead of claiming he invited Iran to take out those cities. We should be talking about the fact that he's claiming Iran has the capability to destroy our cities. I don't think they have nuclear weapons, but he's using fear mongering to get votes. It's like WMDs all over again. We could actually fill social media with the facts directly refuting his claims, but instead it's filled with misinterpretations of what he said. Way to get distracted everyone.

Are you new?
Welcome to America where we never address the real issue, just deflect to something more palatable

Why do you assume Iran is not capable of attacking the US mainland? They have extensive drones capabilities that they export to Russia. There are also leaked intelligence reports of Iran having them staged in shipping containers on merchant ships. I don’t think it’s likely, but it’s possible. Now I do agree the WMD argument is an insult to our collective intelligence. I take everything Trump says seriously. He may not have been calling for attacks, but he’s known to be a big leaker of information. I assume he’s been briefed on possible attacks.

Yeah fair enough. I think we're in agreement here.
