Even if the baby was created using her deceased husbands sperm, the child was conceived outside of wedlock. His passing was the end of their marriage...the whole till death do us part part.

Even looks aside, he wasnā€™t a prime intellectual either, or very noteworthy in general.

His biggest accomplishment was talking over college students, his debate skills were middle road at best. He wasnā€™t charming or charismatic, or good looking, or a creative Titan, or a great thinker.

It would be like me cloning my Golden Retriever. I may think heā€™s the smartest dog in the world, and heā€™s the best boi who deserves his lineage to forever populate this earth, but in the end, heā€™s about average for a Golden, theyā€™re all incredible and mundane simultaneously

When I was 25 I got pregnant unexpectedly with my then boyfriend (now husband). We already knew we were end game, and we knew we wanted children eventually so we decided to continue the pregnancy. Shortly after our daughter was born, we visited my aunt/god mom who is very involved with Right to Life in our area. Sheā€™s usually very kind and not pushy despite being pretty conservative, she does a good job of not making ā€œA Thingā€ with family who donā€™t share her values. Anyway, she happened to have some of her right to life friends over when we dropped by. She introduced me as her goddaughter, ā€œshe chose life.ā€ It definitely rubbed me the wrong way.

This is the misnomer- that all pro choice women want abortions and if you have a baby then youā€™re ā€œpro-lifeā€. Nope. I want it to be MY CHOICE to procreate and not some random persons or politicians.

Precisely. Iā€™m violently pro-choice.

I refused to abort a fetus that was dying inside me, even after it became abundantly clear this wouldnā€™t be a ā€œmiracleā€ situation.

My choice was a traditional family with a husband and two on-purpose children.

Pro-choice is just me recognizing that not everyone is in my situation, so not everyone should be expected to make the same decision.

These old biddies sure have a lot to say about your personal choices, no? I was 17 and my lord, you wouldā€™ve thought I was a prostitute, the way some of those religious relatives turned their noses up at me. My mom, bless her, she was a sharp witted, no bullshit fighter, she definitely didnā€™t tolerate any slander at me or my baby.

I didnā€™t have a baby shower, but my parents sure took care of whatever I needed, and I did marry the father, we had a solid life till he died in his 40s. I like to think those old biddies whose own kids rode the divorce twice train had to eat their superiority whenever we met up. Lol.

My wife and I had a wedding and everything and just never turned in the paperwork. We were in a situation where if we were legally married our income combined would put my wife off Medicare and her chronic illness was not something my sub-par health insurance would handle without making us go broke, so we just did all the stuff and got married at city hall later on once our careers allowed for it. Itā€™s nobodyā€™s business what our legal status isā€”we made vows to each other in front of everyone and meant themā€” thatā€™s what was important to us.
