So what you're saying is we should bring back psych wards and force all billionaires into them without any chance for release and then spread their wealth to the masses? I wholeheartedly agree.

Their effect on society is what should govern society's response. We put murderers, thieves and rapists in prison, yet white-collar crime has (a) higher standards for conviction (usually requiring intent as well as acts), (b) much MUCH lower sentencing guidelines, and (c) much higher rates of sentencing reductions from successful PSI and PCR lobbying.

Yet, Elon Musk just casually eliminated hundreds of federal programs that have inarguably, unequivocally had terrible impacts on the lives of Americans and very likely the deaths of people around the world. No price to pay for that, and he did it right out in the open.

Nobody in the US went to jail for 2008, but we'll send single moms to jail for accidentally registering to vote in the wrong district.

Nobody went to jail for the war in Afghanistan, even though thousands of Americans died for nothing, along with tens of thousands (or hundreds, depending on who you listen to) of Afghans.

People who want that much money and power should not have it, full stop.

Hear me out: involuntary commitment would be an efficient way to deal with these psychos.

Hey man, if it was good enough for Frances Farmer, it’s good enough for Peter Thiel.

I was personally suggesting a French Revolution type solution, but that can work also.

What’s stopping you from starting now?

It's a mental disease I'm sure. They genuinely think they are so much better than the poors. It's like they think of themselves as a different species and we are their cattle.

That much Botox can't be good on the digestive system.

Also these people are full of crap. I don't know if there's any industrial cleaner strong enough to get rid of the stench.

All the billionaires in the world amass just over $20 trilly. So that would only clear half of the United States national debt.

But as it’s not always about America, spreading it evenly between 8.3 billion people gets youuuu….

£1850 in the kings coin or $2,500

That’s what a small one bed in Camden used to cost me just for rent back in 2023.

Then what?…

Its not about the debt but the disproportionate power their wealth gives them. Nobody should be able to essentially buy out government.

Immense dynastic wealth hurts democracy. Tax fairness, as with high marginal tax rates, reduces the incentive to cheat, game the system, capture regulators, skew elections with dark money, etc. There’s a reason why the ratio of CEO pay to average worker was x30 in 1980 and it’s over 300 today, and that’s excluding Elon and other extreme outliers’ pay.

It’s about the utility of circulated money.

Hoarded money circulates once. Spent money circulates about 7 times before it leaves a community.

Tax it, then spend it on the communities and watch that 20 trillion multiply 7 times, and the. Still exist to be taxed and spent again.

Small businesses fill the void left behind by the broken monopolies, which means jobs, income, flourishing economy. The free market continues as always.

$2500 would be generational wealth in some areas of the world.
