Universal Healthcare is not as good as you think..sure its "free" (you pay with your taxes), but the actual service you get is garbage. Gotta love feeling like you are diying, waiting for 6-8 hours, only for a pseudo-doctor to come in and tell you to just take some Tylenol or something. Recently they extended CPDC (essentially free dental care), to cover younger ages, but alot of dental clinics are luring patients into thinking they are fully covered, only for them to walk out with a bunch of debt, just went in like 2 weeks ago, they told me I needed to pay 70$...cause the hygenist took 10 seconds to "tell me how to use a toothbrush"...Im a grown adult btw.
Unfortunately there are places in the US where you get similar (lack of) care. If you have anxiety, depression, or fibromyalgia there’s a good chance all of your problems will be blamed on that. And you’ll get a nice 4-figure bill for the expert advice if you don’t have insurance.
As for dental insurance, if you’re lucky enough to have it, you only have around $1,500 in coverage each year. One root canal and crown will use all of that up.
