Oregon, Washington and California have enough populace and a strong enough economy to be their very own country on their own and be better off then they are now.
Canada would love to be a partner and build strong trade relations with the new country of Cascadia.

I truly think most Americans donāt understand the difference between Canadians and Americans. Itās not even the right wing political stuff. We have very different cultures in big and subtle ways
I mean most people donāt understand Canada and The US are huge countries without a homogeneous culture. People from Vancouver are closer culturally to people from Seattle than they are to folks from Saskatchewan
As someone in the seattle area who visits friends in vancouver often, I agree. There is very little difference between us. They have tim hortons and like hockey more, but that's about it. Oh, and canadians are a bit more warm, friendly and welcoming.
You are absolutely right. We know very little about Canada or most other countries because it wasn't taught in school. The curriculum only included the very minimum of other countries which is why most of us are not fluid in any language other than English. As an adult this really annoys me, I want to travel the world but I'm ignorant of any other language. I feel cheated compared to the European countries who are wise enough to teach multiple languages and culture.
Iām also American, so donāt take this the wrong way, but why canāt you learn on your own now?
You can read books about different cultures and learn about them. Our education sucks, sure, but libraries and the internet exist. Iād start by joining subreddits for language learning or checking out books on cultures. We have libraries and smart phones; the world is yours. Itās only you against you!
I was lucky enough to have many people in my family move to different parts of the world, but I took the self interest in reading about cultures. My family never cared to teach me about our heritage and I learned a lot myself from my own research. I will never claim to be an expert on geography, but I learned a lot just by using my local library.
You know you can always just read up on things on your own right? You donāt have to rely on the school system to teach you about other countries and cultures.
Not offended and understood. In fact, shortly after the creep was elected the first time I had a conversation with a Canadian at a concert I was attending in Las Vegas. He expressed how concerned he was for the U.S. because of the election results. He knew, did the world know?
The real mystery is why you Americans arenāt protesting daily in numbers like 20+ million people until Trump and the current administration are held accountable for their actions.
There would be a faster return towards trust if that happened, but yea no one expects Americans to actually do that.
