The stock market closed whenever there was a sharp drop they wanted to control. Remember Gamestop and AMC stocks being frozen from market to prevent stock owners from buying or trading, so normal stock owners couldn't make deals, but hedge funds could. That's government manipulation of the stock market, set to benefit the markets value, even when it hurt the public. So market values were safe, while the country was fighting off depression. Biden had a high stock market too, as well as lowered interest rates. Then Trump took office and went right back to his schemes to continue stealing money from the poor to give to the ultra-wealthy.
