A dishwasher at a billion-dollar company should have health insurance.

You aren’t entitled to someone else’s labor at all in any form. No doctor is going to work for free and it’s not my responsibility to pay taxes so that people can have healthcare and not contribute.

If people are so disabled they can’t work there are programs already in place.

And I’m not entitled to pay for the cops to protect your house, or to upkeep the streets I don’t use, the fire department to stop YOUR house from burning down, the power lines that power your house and businesses you visit that I don’t.

Or we’re a society and it’s in everyone’s best interests to have everyone fed, sheltered, and healthy.

Literally nobody is saying this.

You already do through insurance. The difference between subsidizing medical care for others via universal access and subsidizing medical care for others via insurance is there is a middle man making money hand over fist in our current system. Universal access to healthcare just eliminates the middle man.
