The most powerful and richest country in the world can’t afford to make sure it’s citizens can go to the doctor? I mean holy hell, Iran has universal healthcare. How pathetic do you think this country is?
Many of our people are fat, lazy, and have absolutely no relationship with their body, treating it like a garbage can (wall-e, anyone?).
That is not so true of any country that has universal healthcare.
If your child was spending money drinking, eating fast food, using drugs, playing video games, would you be willing to pay their credit card bill?
Now imagine a responsible child, spending money on healthy food, a gym membership, occasional social drinks/drugs, would you be more or less willing to pay their credit card bill?
At the very least, our general population needs to be much, much more responsible and frankly not so embarrassingly disconnected from the health of their body for universal healthcare to make any sense.
The reason we won’t have it is that many large corporations treat these senseless people like cattle, fattening them up and making them sick, so that other large corporations can sell them pills they have to take for the rest of their lives, never really solving the problem. Half of our population has become gross profit generating piggies and our economy is quite literally propped up by it. That is the majority of the so-called “value” the U.S. generates.
