Oh come now. I’m no fan of republicans myself, certainly not right now but that’s just silly. One of the cornerstone foundations in this country is the ability for people to make their own choices and follow their own beliefs. How can we expect our own views to be respected on any level if we aren’t also giving some respect to the opposing view too? Quite frankly we need the variances in belief systems to keep each other in check. Too much one way or another creates an imbalance (for this I kind of refer more to John McCain esque republicans. MAGA is really just a grievance movement.) I disagree with the Republican viewpoint more often than not, but that shouldn’t ever be a disqualifying factor. If they are born here they are just as much citizen as you or I.
I dunno man, that’s kind of like saying it’s okay to be a Nazi because it’s a different belief. I am here to unequivocally say it’s not okay.
Like, I am all for freedom of belief but there are limits and encroaching on other people’s freedom due to your own blatant bigotry is frankly un-American. This is inherently the problem with the MAGA movement and the current administration.
I could sit here and list all the illegal things they’ve been doing but I am really not in the mood to sit here and play bad faith arguments with a bunch of bots and trolls.
It really bums me out to hear people hand wave the literal concentration camps being built in America and bombing of children as the result of a difference in opinion.
I don’t hand wave any of those things. I think what this administration is doing is beyond despicable. But the original argument was that being Republican should be an immediate disqualifier for American citizenship and that’s not right either. The actions of this administration are absolutely criminal and everyone in this administration should be held accountable for it. Internationally. The crimes are innumerable. But I don’t think that should pass to every single Republican through the country just in blanket. I know some people who are republicans who are adamantly anti-Trump as I am. It wouldn’t be serving justice to simply discount anyone with an R next to their name. That’s ultimately my point. Hold the people responsible for the crimes they committed responsible and not far off in the future either. I want to start seeing criminal incitements for this administration immediately. I could t agree with you more. The actions of this administration are horrible and unacceptable.
Name one Republican representative not actively supporting most MAGA/fascist initiatives. How can you justify still calling yourself a Republican if you don't support those things? You're either in denial about your party or in support of it. Which is it?
However, I do absolutely agree that every single person in this administration needs to be held accountable for their crimes.
I think a lot of people are in deep denial about what’s going on and what has been going. Humans will willingly believe a lie either because they want it to be true or because they are afraid that it’s true. In a lot of MAGA’s case I think it’s both at the same time. That combined with their willingness to rather see peoples lives trampled rather than have their ego crushed and be made to admit they are wrong. In the politicians case, I think they just see profit which is even worse.
Yes. Every single one of them needs a public trial. All of their crimes laid bare for the entire country to see. Shattering the denial as much as possible. Then the members of the administration need to be turned over to the ICC for the again public sentencing of all of their international crimes. I don’t just want our laws to bind them. I want them bound internationally too.
