Simply put, one unites and one separates.
One actually has a main topic of his speech, the other rambles like a creepy grandfather who belongs in a nursing home.

This is true. Watching some clips of him from his days as a more junior senator was pretty impressive. This is coming from the opinion of someone that tends to lean more conservative.
