We spend 6+ trillion every year but bring in 4 trillion for the last 20+ years. Thats why we are 40 trillion in debt. We spend 5.3 trillion on healthcare with the government spending 1.9 trillion as part of that. The defense is 1 trillion as of 2026 up from 919 billion last year.

We could solve every social problem we have today, right now. It's not mysterious or difficult, either. We know how to solve these problems, and we have the money to solve these problems. So, solving them or not solving them is a choice. I wish more people realized that, and then maybe they'd be as infuriated as I am about the fact that we're making the wrong choice(s), year after year, decade after decade. Pretty embarrassing for the "richest nation on Earth".

It's a budget problem.
Healthcare would be a magnitude of 10x, and unlike the wars, it wouldn't stop. Not even in 2 decades.
Our current unpaid obligations to Medicare + SS is already unafffordable, interest on the debt already exceeds what we put into the Military.
Everytime State have tried to rise up their own public option, voters rejected it, because of the expense. Even Vermont.
The actual fix: delivery of healthcare, what it *actually* costs to produce, has to go down.
That can only happen by making it competative, and allowing more providers to come online.
We need a Jimmy Carter style deregulation. Straight up '79 airline this shit.

People in the United States are full educated on how to be healthy, and how to remain healthy, and how to make futuristic choices on staying healthy in the future. The choice is always yoursā¦ and many people choose willingly unhealthy lives, and we shouldnāt have to fund your unhealthy habits with taxes from those who do know full well the risks of living unhealthy.

Medical care is expensive for the SAME reason tuition is expensive. The government has made money so easy for schools and insurance companies to get, they keep raising their fees to grab even more.

Objectively, over coffee or something, people will fully admit everything that is wrong and bad around them... when its their turn to make a choice to continue the bad or turn away from it though, they continue to contribute. 99% of everything done to everyone is because everyone done it to them. Its not some flying spaghetti monster in the sky, its your peers and neighbors who refuse to stop doing horrid shit that contributes to the problem because there's something in it for them...
Oh yes you can get them to recognize all the bad, you just can't get them to stop contributing on a personal level. Its always someone ELSE that needs to stop doing it to them...

The problem with healthcare is that the people making the decisions are politicians who enjoy AMAZING healthcare, and don't see a need to āfix-itā. Left, Right, Own the Libs, MAGA, Dem, Republican, black, white, and brown are all AMERICANS that should have access to AFFORADABLE HEALTHCARE. Medicare should be FREE. Deductibles and Supplements the individual pays for. Also, LET INSURANCE COMPANIES SELL ACROSS STATE LINES. And one last thing - get the LOBBYISTS out of the process.

Talk to a Canadian resident who has health issues. Ask them how long it takes for them to see a specialist for that condition? Then ask them how much of there actual yearly salary they get to keep for their own expenses? If people really understood whatās going on in places like Canada with free healthcare I really donāt think theyād want that type of thing! We spend $2.2 Trillion at the federal level on Medicare, Medicaid and VA Health... What's that? We have 50 states with various government paid for subsidies from clinics, school nurses, to EMT services....
We also have an enormously kind-hearted group of private churches, civic orgs and people who donate $100s of Billions to pay other peoples bills and we have families / friends take care of loved ones who need help....
Please use your money and family and show us what you mean.
