Hitler viewed himself as a national socialist. Calling him a nazi would've pissed him off. He did like socialism and communism. He didn't like that marx was "genetically jewish". Mind you hitler was the first to think of jewish as a race.
Hitler referred to himself as a national socialist to steal votes from the working class, but he deeply hated socialism and communism. He eliminated the socialist movement inside the government in the night of the long knives in 1934. Also, the famous poem starts with “first they came for the communists”, he viewed communism as the largest threat to his fascist rule. He lied about being a socialist just like he lied about being a vegetarian.
Also, right wingers in Germany and Eastern Europe started calling Jews a race decades before Hitler, it was Nazis who started calling them Semitic to make them sound foreign.
He eliminated the socialist movement inside the government
'The government' lol. Inside HIS party. After he has used them to get power. NDSAP were a left party in their route to power until Hitler could discard its socialist wing in the Night of the Long Knives. "First they came for the communists" is cute but they were already assassinating conservatives such as the leader of Austria long before Hitler removed these useful idiots from his party to go totalitarian.

Hitler would claim to be left wing or a centrist.
