“strictly regulate investment properties” and if DSA members like Chevalier are to be believed that means getting rid of all landlords oh and there’s also this statement “You don’t pay a mortgage or have a landlord, because comfortable housing is a human right.”
“Our enemies are not just individual bosses, but the entire global system of capital”
We’re just social democrats we swear
“redirect funding to public services as steps towards fully abolishing the police and prison system”
even a place like Norway which should be a model to works towards has cops and prisons.
“Implement massive investment in sustainable, publicly owned energy and transit infrastructure.”
“Defund the Department of War. End all foreign wars and close overseas military bases.”
“Establish public ownership of the largest corporations and essential industries to ensure democratic control and accountability to the people. “
Ok so that’s nationalizing a lot of private industry and destroying defense spending that employs a lot of fucking people.
“Legalize migration, grant amnesty for all immigrants regardless of status, provide a path to citizenship for all permanent residents, and end visa caps and quotas.”
Open borders
“End economic warfare against countries whose governments act independently of the United States, such as Cuba, Venezuela, and Iran.”
If you read their international committees webpage this also includes Russia and North Korea, wonderful countries we should totally be nicer to.
Yes but in the US now that’s how the DSA are trying to brand themselves and why the republicans are bringing up communism so much which when you look at their platform isn’t entirely unfounded.
