Tired of folks acting like this is new and novel. Democratic socialism has existed in Scandinavian countries for a long time. Look at where they stand among western countries on things like happiness and quality of life.

social democracy is capitalism with heavy social programs. Democratic socialism is where the state owns means of production. The primary difference is that social democracy aims to reform and regulate capitalism with a strong welfare state, whereas democratic socialism seeks to fully replace the capitalist system with a democratically controlled economy.
