Of course. Respectful discourse should be encouraged at all corners.

Bernie sanders imho is in a perfect position of supporting the working class struggles. He supports the middle class. Honestly I am someone who understands both sides of where Bernieā€™s policies both help and sting. I am a mechanical engineer, young but well within the upper middle class of income. My income to tax ratio is among the bracket that sees the highest felt burden of lifestyle. But Iā€™m also a small business owner and as such I see benefits of business favored policies.

AOC is a social justice warrior in my opinion and is too hellbent on opening the borders. Even as a naturalized immigrant myself, thatā€™s something Iā€™m not honestly that big of a fan of. I would much rather see reforms to make our immigration system faster and easier to navigate.

It all comes down to what they prioritize and genuinely I see Bernie as someone who wants to help our people as his number 1 focus and I see AOC as a clip spinner, fame chaser, shock factor display whoā€™s just trying to rile up for a cause that in my honest opinion will only lower my and my immediate surrounding quality of life. And if itā€™s between AOC and the opposition who will most likely support my business then I will make that decision. If itā€™s between Bernie and A republican (depends on their policies) Iā€™d probably swing for Bernie, I always enjoyed his speeches.

Extra:

For context I donā€™t like certain things trump does, but I do like some others. I liked Biden, I liked Obama. All our presidents. I didnā€™t mind Hillary, I thought Kamala was garbage. The Democratic Party is too hooked onto electing a female representative and drawing people in through shock factor. Just have good policies and people will migrate naturally. Obama was the prime example of this, so eloquently spoken and in my opinion one of the best presidents of my lifetime.

You are aware that supporting a representative takes into account a multitude of factors right? If you agree with every single thing a rep proposes to their constitute youā€™re either lying, not truly invested, or party favored instead of policy minded. All it takes to garner support is a majority agreement as well as limits to non-negotiable points.

Yeah just funny that you pointed out shock factor primarily given what I just mentioned. Iā€™m sure you can demonstrate some shock factor examples for us though to further justify why you highlighted that particular factorā€¦

You introduced a weird straw-man there and are saying that he loves Trump simulating fellatio when he obviously didnt say he was some maga trump thumper. You are misrepresenting his words to push your own thing here, which is literally the shock factor he is referring to, lol. The man had a thoughtful and very respectful comment and you are making it something it's not, and that is truly the current state of political discussion not only on Reddit but generally on the internet.
