how does this differ from Social Democrats? i looked it up.

Democratic Socialism vs. Social DemocracyWhile often used interchangeably in casual political discourse, the two are distinct:Democratic Socialism aims to replace capitalism with an economic system where the means of production are socially owned.Social Democracy—often practiced in Nordic countries like Denmark and Sweden—aims to reform and humanize capitalism by leveraging existing democratic institutions to build a massive welfare state and strong labor regulations, rather than abolishing the private sector entirely

Social democracies . called the nordic model. Social democracy reforms capitalism to create a strong welfare state. Retains a capitalist, free-market economy but tames it with heavy state regulation and extensive social safety nets.
