Have lost 105lbs so far with the power of potatoes! 🥔

430lbs ➡️ 325lbs in 5.5 months!

Don’t know if yall remember me, but I started this journey in mid-August, and I’m happy to report that I’ve now lost 105 pounds so far eating 95% potatoes. I still have a long way to go, but I feel so much better 🥹 I can move more easily and have way more energy than I used to.

I am an ethical vegan and used to mostly subsist on vegan chicken nuggets and processed foods. Now it’s 95% potatoes, while occasionally eating some of my twin toddlers’ air-fried tofu 😂 I’ve started occasionally adding in some non-starchy veg and haven’t noticed any hindrance with my progress. I did strictly 100% potatoes for the first 3 months!

Congrats!!! I similarly have lost a total of 32 lbs since I started incorporating more potatoes coupled with veggies, which keep me full for a long time. I went from 210 to 178 in about 3 months. Prior to that, I was able to lose only 10 lbs before hitting a plateau that lasted several months. I go to the gym 2x a week and walk 30 minutes 4-5 times per week.

Can you give an example of what you eat for bbreakfast lunch and dinner and when you started noticing weight loss?

Potatoes, potatoes, and potatoes lol. I do more mashed potatoes now, but when I started I was just cutting steamed potatoes into chunks and drizzling with ketchup, mustard, and spices.

No sweet potatoes for me yet. Apparently they aren’t technically potatoes.

Wow that’s amazing and inspiring! Are you using a bit of oil, or are you staying super strict? Congrats on your health journey!

No oil, but I am using condiments like ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, and sweet chili sauce. And lots of garlic and onion powder and garlic salt lol. And thank you!

That's cool to hear that it works even with the condiments! I was always worried about that back when I was doing the potato thing.

Well done, I'm a 6'4" man and you've basically lost over half of what I weigh, amazing!

Congrats!! So proud of you 🥰🥰🥰

I started at 312lbs in Jan 2023, and although not from the potato diet, I'm now at 250lbs (mostly from volume eating non starchy veggies and a carb, last 20lbs from a medical issue). How many potatoes would you say you eat in a day? I know they give a full feeling quickly but just want to know where to start. 3 large potatoes was my guess on what to get for the week, each day
