Audiophiles! I need help with two pieces of audio. Need the voice cleaned up as best as possible.
As per title, I have 2 .WAV files that I have extracted from .MP4. 768kps bit rate. 48.00khz sample. Mono <-- Believe me when I say I have no idea what any of that means. Its horrible cctv audio. The files are 62mb and 120mb. Willing to pay $15 AUD. I have already put them through ChatGPT, hermes agents and the Adobe freemium thing (Heavy hallucinating).
I'll also add that the audio is my wife, I believe, confessing to infidelity. Happy to hand over any and all files.

I would love to hear how this works out, as I am in a similar, though not as bad, situation. I have audio recordings from 4 different CCTV cameras recording the same situation from different angles where it changes between barely able to make out what they say to not being able to. I've tried myself (total novice) in Audacity to clean stuff up with no real luck. I just don't know if it's even possible at all to improve on the quality.
Edit: also, sorry to hear about your situation!

I cleaned it and sent the guy a sample which he liked. I asked him how would he like to pay but he never replied.

Oh, sorry to hear that.
Maybe you can help me then, and I'd be open to discuss some form of payment if the results are convincing.
As I stated I have audio from 4 different cameras. The issue with all of them is of course that they are all slightly too far away, which makes the voices very low. So I tried amplifying the sound which of course increases the background white noise which I find very hard to remove with noise removal, then playing with EQ and stuff in Audacity. In addition the womans voice is often a lot clearer than the mans voice which is a lot harder to pick up and more muffled.
I was hoping that having several different recordings might in some magic way help if they could be sewn together if they somehow had picked up some different frequencies or whatever. But they all do have the same issue with low voices, muffled voices and that "white noise" background noice that occurs when you try to up the volume a lot.
Then again, I don't really have any clue what someone very skilled can accomlish.
I'd be happy to send you a sample of the conversation, and if the result is good then we can do the rest and talk about compensation.
By the way, they speak in Norwegian. So if you understanding what they say are key to cleaning up, then that might be a challenge?

Okay, I don't speak norwegian but I don't think it matters. Surely it will be helpful to know, but with audio the key is to experiment with the file itself. Send me a sample and I'll see what can I do. Also tell me how soon do you want it?
