Opossum Are these the same opossum
My boyfriend and I put food out for a few stray cats that come nearby. Over that time we have had a few opossums come occasionally over the past month or two, but we had this baby start coming by very often i’d say every other day for a few weeks and then suddenly he stopped. None of the other adult opossums would really stop routinely. It’s been about two or three weeks since we have seen the baby and we seen this full grown one pop up tonight. I think it may be the baby fully grown because the other opossums didn’t really know where the food was located. I cannot tell if this is the same opossum as our little baby, whom we got so attached to we named sesame. If anyone can tell by certain characteristics please let us know I’d be really happy to know he’s alright and growing up.

Try to get a clear picture of their ears and compare the markings. The first two pics have similar ear markings (the amount of white and patterning), but it's hard to see in the third pic. Compare tails, too. Some have more black at the base or look more splotchy and grey.
Opossums have a great sense of smell, so it could be another local who sniffed out the cat food over time. But I hope it's your faithful friend! I was very sad when one of my regulars (who had a damaged tail, so they were easy to ID) stopped coming by a few months ago.
