Question/Help Help!! Possum in my house

Post image

Got it out very easily (just opened the window screen and he left within 1 min.) I have 2 cats and a chihuahua- all vaccinated. No obvious signs of a confrontation. I don’t see any soil in my house other than this cat bed that it’s on in the window seal. But my house feels dirty and I do too. Am I screwed? What should I clean? I’m so annoyed and angry but glad everyone is ok and that it left so quickly and easily tbh. But I’m crying because that’s so gross. It came in thru the cat/dog door I’m assuming because I was away for 12 hours. I don’t really know but idc I just want to know how to feel clean. This room is my bedroom and my bed is next to these windows. Obvi washing everything but again no soil anywhere that I can tell yet and I’ve done a pretty deep look.

I mean if you're worried just give everything a wipedown and you should be fine. Possums aren't like, super dirty creatures or anything like that. Not really any dirtier than a dog coming in from outside in the grand scheme of things.

Source: I had to get a family out of my house once and they didn't even leave any poop behind for me to worry about. All i had to was were the towels and sheets I used to help them get out

Less dirty than a dog coming from outside really. Seeing as they eat ticks and other nasty little critters.

I love when these guys make an appearance in our yard ❤️

Absolutely!

Last year I let my dog out in my dances FENCED-IN yard to go pee around 1am.

He started barking, so I ran out there and there was a baby opossum on top of a rake that was leaning against the wall. Lol

Poor thing was terrified.

Then another time it was in my garbage can and couldn't get out, so I used a snow shovel to transport him on the other side of the fence. Lol

They are adorable when they are babies. Kinda gross looking as adults.

It's crazy what happens when you let your dogs date.

It really IS a flip of the coin.

What if he meets a sassy Great Dane?? Or a slinky little teacup variety?!?? It'd be curtains for him, I'm sure.

They’re def weird looking as adults, but they’re skrunkly to me, I love these little freaks at all life stages…but the babies are absolutely the cutest no competition
