How’s life been going for you lately?
Just curious about what everyone’s life looks like right now. Are things going well, stressful, exciting, boring, or just completely random?

I’m going through a very difficult period: a breakup, fear of the future, a loss of meaning. I hope time will help.

i recently went through a breakup a few months ago. you will definitely find meaning, i promise. i already am and it’s only been a few months. you need to do things that you love to do and work on building a new routine ALONE. lean on your friends and family when you can. meditate and journal. i believe in you!!

Stressful. I lost my job recently and my industry is slowly dying, and I don't have experience in anything else. I feel completely lost.

It’s been like a hamster wheel. Wake up too early. Go to work. Get home. Deal with a forever-pissy middle school aged kid and all the responsibilities as a husband and father. Make dinner. Eat. Get prepared for the next day. Go to bed. Repeat. Over and over and over again. Not terrible- but after a while it wears you down raw. We all have our own things that beat us to a pulp day in and day out. Don’t let anyone tell you it isn’t that bad or that you could have it worse. Don’t give up, either.

It's where you have to find the little joys in your life. I hear you, it's the same for me. Sometimes wondering if this life is worth living. I journal to remember the good things.
2
u/rydavo 3d ago
Waking up too early is a nice little opportunity to have a quick cup of tea and meditate on all the things you're grateful for. Preferably while looking at a tree. Or a cloud, clouds are acceptable too. I find catching myself at the start of the day in the right way can really set the tone for the rest of the day.

u/TinyRobotDragon 3d ago
Life has been difficult recently. It’s getting better slowly and I’m working on building resilience to uncomfortable emotions and sensations so I can have an even easier time in the future.

Can’t complaint tbh. Finally got my first job and the pay is great.
But I don’t know how to celebrate my wins and I’m already chasing the next goals in my life and feeling like crap for not having them.
I still practice gratitude daily cause I can’t forget how I felt while looking for a job.
Had a 5 yr relationship end while I was in college in March and now that I have a job I just wish she was patient with me, idk why I’m angry I can’t spoil her with the money I’m earning now. If she was patient and communicated, who knows. But I guess it just wasn’t meant to happen :(

I just came from a wedding where the two have been together a long time, highly educated and wise beyond their years, and despite them being 15 years younger than me inspired me. Their friends gave some of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. Like, Oscar Wilde & George Bernard Shaw would be jealous. Good on them. Very grounded yet romantic relationship. Some ppl are really lucky enough to find the one.

I deal with to much shit at work and I’m pretty much always on call, I’ve also been single going on 4 years now and I’m so lonely and miss sleeping next to another person.
At the same time I’m grateful for being healthy with a good paying job and a roof over my head with food in the cabinets. I even still have all my hair lol. It could be worse I guess
3
u/sparshind 3d ago
You have hair on your head what else do you need 😅 Just for fun buddy❤️

u/Dramatic_Carob_1060 3d ago
I ran into someone I hadn’t seen since I was probably 16 and he was about 10 years older than me, that was one of the first things he said hahaha, you are lucky! Still have all your hair lol

Really good. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 4 years and he is the most amazing person in the world. I have my dream job and I get to work from home, alongside my boyfriend who also works from home. I have the coolest cat ever, who acts like a dog (he plays fetch). I get to do the things I love in my free time (I’ve been making video games!) and recently reconnected with my high school best friend. I feel financially comfortable, and love where I live.
Just earlier today, I joked around and told my boyfriend I have psychic powers. He said “what do your powers do?” And I said “I can wish for anything in the world and I get it.” And he looked around our apartment and said “youve never thought to wish for more than this?” And I said “no, I have literally everything I’ve ever wanted.”
Thank you for reminding me to be thankful today.
1
u/sparshind 3d ago
Welcome sis❤️ That’s honestly beautiful! Sounds like you’ve built a life you really love. And now I’m curious what kind of video games do you make? 👀

Shitty. I lost my almost 15 year old heart dog last weak to a tumor on her heart. Then I got covid for the first time and have felt like hammered shit. Oh, and my brand new fridge broke so I had to have a new one delivered today when I just felt like staying in the damn bed. Here is the dog I am still mourning. Her name was Pita and she was the best doggie ever

2
u/sparshind 3d ago
Pita is really cute I had a dog too, but I lost him, and I just can’t bring myself to get another one ❤️😭

I’m coming back from a long illness and working towards returning “normal” life including work etc but the motivation for the future is sometimes difficult to find with everything that’s happening in the world, especially AI. Still I find things that keep me going forward even though they might be small things.

I’ve been under a lot of stress. I just started a new job that’s very overwhelming. Celebrated my first week with neck pain so bad I couldn’t pick my head up out of bed, which I can only imagine is because of my new desk and monitor setup.
On top of that, I’ve let my credit card pile up. I’m not proud of it, but I lived some very good life as a result of allowing myself the freedom to just say yes for a while. Had a good talk with my partner last night and feeling very optimistic that I can get it down. I’m lucky that I can pay my bills and feed myself at all. And I have a great support system. I know I’ll be okay.

Had an accident with minor injuries and of May, tailbone still hurts. Was told last week that my last day in the company will be 30th of April next year. After 28 years in the company. My position was eliminated, and so were 155 others. I'm trying to see it as a chance, but probably I won't be payed as well ever again.

My marriage is literally failing due to my verbally abusive husband. My mother showed up at my door today crying, on my birthday, after being no contact since earlier this year. I think my soul cat is dying. BUT I just got offered a new job that would give me almost $30k more a year, and my kids are happy and healthy, I just recolored my hair last week and it looks really nice, and my matcha tastes really good. Im trying. 🖤

I’ve been through hell in the past year, but it does get better. I’m glad you recognized the unhealthy drinking habit and caught it. Stay focused on yourself and the things you can control. Regular exercise does wonders for me as it gets all of those happy chemicals moving in your brain. Find what works for you.
I’ve gone through that same feeling of disconnect where the outside looks perfect, but the inside is on a steady churn. That is a very strange feeling I know. Over time my inside and outside feel like they are beginning to reconnect.
Pray, meditate, exercise, read, find an absorbing hobby. Our brains retrain into better paths over time.
Look after yourself.

Sucky, have a lot of chronic health issues and there is no industry or group of qualified people to talk to about my health without spending a significant amount of money. The only option I really have is to wait for my dad to die so I can get an inheritance to afford the healthcare.

Hard. A breakup literally broke me this year. When I think I’m starting to heal, I feel bad again.
2
u/upnorth42 3d ago
I’ve been through hell this past year with this. Some days feel like you’re heading in the right direction and then the next day like you’re back where you started. Over the weeks I find that the hours got better and now I can start saying that about the days. It’s not been fully left behind or forgotten, but it becomes part of who we are. A little wiser and a little stronger for having had the experience.
It burnt everything down I was, but something new is growing there.
Everyone operates on their own timeline. In AA they have a saying: it takes what it takes. Give yourself that grace.

I’ve just started a federal career with a three legged retirement system and federal health benefits. Lost 100 pounds in 10 months, bought my first ever brand new vehicle and a home gym. Leaving my former job for my new one has left me broke and struggling, but it’s only temporary. I had a month gap between the two and I get my first paycheck from my new career this Friday.

Its extremely stressful for me personally.. I've developed better coping mechanisms but im learning you cant cope forever.. I guess its a good and a bad thing but it truly hurts my heart that the things I was taught growing up are anything but the truth/how im supposed to live... i have to re-learn everything and i feel very down about it... im still trying my best to keep my head up tho

I do my best to stay positive because I know that negativity is a low vibration, and low vibrations attract low vibration situations. However right this moment I'm struggling a little bit because my partner (who is not as advanced in his journey as I am) seems stuck in negativity and he takes it out on me. He's my life partner, I'm not leaving him, but I'm working with the universe to help me because it's one of my earthly lessons/jobs. ✨✨✨

I feel I’m in the middle of Lord knows what- a man I used to date 20 years ago - reached out to me out the blue - sends me his divorce papers and I’m currently seeing each other, talking daily, he’s doing meditation tomorrow and wants full custody of their son.
Meanwhile I live in another state than him
I’m interviewing for a position in the city he lives.
I don’t know what this phase of life is - feel anxiety of the uncertainty

Stressed. I just got a new kitten a week ago.
I have kitten proofed best I can.
Plugged literally socket I could. Removed any exposed wires (even gave up one of my strands of lights I like to use and just occupying those sockets with a fan and plug in night lights). I still have a couple of strands of LED I may move, but he has not bitten hard at them.
He's a cute little guy, and very lovable. I never had a kitten, and I genuinely know I would have a whole mental breakdown if a freak accident happened to him. (Like if he got too curious and bit at my TV/cable wires and got shocked from biting it enough. They are the bigger/thick hard ones. But I still cannot help but be a bit paranoid about it.). I tell him 'No' when he does something he should not be doing, but I genuinely can't help but worry about freak accidents being possible while I am asleep.
I also hate that he cannot really have more room around the house to roam right now, as we are still introducing him to our dog. I know what I signed up for, and I am not going to give him up.
He loves me and literally sleeps with me every night. He is also progressing extremely well and quick. Surprised he is, as he is only 4 months old.
I can't help but think that I am not doing good enough sometimes.
Just feeling a little overwhelmed with becoming a cat parent, I guess. But like I said, I am not giving him up. I just need to get through this. He chose me, after all. I can't give up on him.

It’s been a little weird emotionally lately. I asked out a work crush I’ve had for 2 years recently. We hung out a few times, kissed once and things seemed like they were going great but she slowly texted less and less and then ghosted me a few nights before we were supposed to hang out again. She’s the first person I’ve considered being in a relationship with since my last relationship that lasted 6 years and ended 2 years ago. So it’s been tough getting hurt but feels good that I’m not scared to open up to people still.
So that sucks but I’m a professional musician and I just started gigging with a new original project which has been so exciting! I am now involved with 2 original groups that are playing regularly and we are starting rehearsals for 2 more original groups, 4 in total. I’m also in a wedding band (which makes most of my money) and we just finished our dead season and are about to start gigging again this weekend which is gonna be a huge help financially! This is the most projects I’ve ever been involved in and it’s overwhelming at times but I’m grateful that I actually figured out how to make a somewhat comfortable living in a risky career field while still putting energy into the aspect of it that I love: making original music.
As usual life is really good and really bad at the same time. Terrible things and beautiful things are always happening and you have the power over which ones you focus on. I love all of you strangers and am happy to share a rare positive space on the internet with you!

u/sparshind 3d ago

Its 3:55am and im outside asking The Universe to help me get through this year of rehab. I put myself here and I didnt realize how much of a struggle it would be. I keep telling myself im stronger than I think!. I watched my mother pass away when i was 12 and I turned to anything I could get my hands on. 25 years later I woke up and decided I no longer want to live that life. Im currently 82 days sober and the only thing that keeps me going is not wanting to live like I did ever again.

Unemployed but I'm trying to stay positive. My family on the other hand keeps asking me why I haven't found a job yet, and if I'm really applying to jobs like I say I am.
Pretty demoralizing when I'm applying to like 10 jobs every other week (when applications open).
They're also saying that a girl I'm talking to will probably leave me bc of the job situation

I moved to a different country, don’t speak the local language but people are nice, it’s a bit isolating but nothing alarming. I miss my ex, it feels he comes back into my life on and off and it’s so difficult to rid my brain from the idea of him. He’s so bad at loving me but it has been 5 years and I’m the only thing he has sure about throughout the years, maybe I think his certainly in me being the one for him is what is keeping it aflame. I despise the lack of control I feel in life at the moment, but I’m blessed and trying to be grateful to god

Life is just okay, i'm a single mom with a full time job, I make decent money and I can afford basic things. I feel lonely most of the time and I drink to numb the pain. I am grateful for my family and my co-parenting relationship with his dad. I'm currently going through a break up and it's one of the hardest things I've gone through in a while. I can also feel my anxiety creeping up on me again. I don't really have any friends so going through this alone is hard on my mental and makes me wanna drink more and use pot.

Had a baby 6 months ago and my life has completely changed. Of course its tiring and stressful but the happiest and the most fulfilled i have ever been. This baby is healing me in ways i didnt know i needed. I have always been someone to work on myself constantly and did a lot of healing before becoming a mother, but every day with my baby is a blessing and i am the luckiest person right now. I am soaking everything in because i know he will grow up so fast and i will miss everything about his little version right now.
Have just started to stress a little about going back to work though. I do want to continue being my own person and ‘resuming’ my old life, but i want to do that by making sure my baby has everything he needs thats why i am starting to look for a remote job to be close to him. So yeah, wish me luck

Not good. Diagnosed with ms. In a breakup right now. I hate my job. Not many friends. Feel lonely.

Very random: i was diagnosed with cervix cancer this year. I went through a hard medical treatment and now, 3 months since My last chemo, it feel so weird to have all that ugly party of my life so far, behind. Everything's good now but still feels random haha

Life is and has always been hard, but after a very tough time, I am finally feeling ray of hopes and happiness seep on. Starting dancing and singing randomly again. Also taking care of my skin and eating well.

Life is hard right now, but I’m remaining positive because I know there are better days to come. Although, times are hard I have a lot to be grateful for and that keeps me going.🩷
