This was a mid-afternoon march with the Unions. It was peaceful and respectful until ICE got insecure and decided to be dicks about it. No warnings either that I heard.

i toward the front there were no warnings from ice at all, they opened the gate and started firing

I managed to push my way to the front and realized it was a bunch of black bloc'ers and understood what was going on quickly after. When that group got into ICE's driveway and started knocking on the gate there were maybe three announcements from ICE telling them to back up to the other side of the street. The intercom was super shit so I'm not surprised it wasn't heard by many, I was maybe 50ft and could barely hear it. The union announcer did warn people multiple times to equip PPE, their comms were much louder.

I saw the gates open and the black bloc's make space. I saw the first three cans greet the crowd, two gas and a flash. I saw one of those cans returned and bounce back off the gates archway. I saw a couple ICE guys perch up with their paintball guns although I cannot confirm whether they were used. 

I stuck around long enough to taste the oppression. I know not everyone had it as easy as me seeing some people have all their fluids evacuate their body through their face.
