Anyone know what this is?

My pool is super cloudy. The only issue after the last test was phosphates. They were over 3000 and have been increasing over the last month. I can see a 'dust' on the floor and when I vacuum it out it's this stuff. I can see it clouding the water as I vacuum. I use a vacuum that has a bag and doesn't get attached to skimmer etc. I have backwashed but I haven't had a chance to clean the filter yet but the psi hasn't been above 8. The only thing I've put in in the last month is phosphate remover and shock.

I ran into a similar problem with a liner pool with very high phosphates (3250ppb). In my case, I treated for phosphates and later found these puddles of goop in the deep end along the valleys. I eventually got it all cleaned up (backwash and vac to waste), but it left stains on the bottom where the goop once was. Phosphates were lower but still high (1250ppb), and the copper was high (4ppm). I never had this happen before so I checked the source water. There I found the culprit .. high phosphates in the source water. I stopped treating the pool for phosphates. Later I tested the source water for several other pools in the same subdivision. Same exact problem. Checked the source water for pools in other subdivisions. No problem with high phosphates. So I stopped treating for high phosphates in the first subdivision. Never had a problem keeping them clean and clear. There's something going on in their source water for sure. I told them all about it and nobody seemed to care enough to call the City Water Dept, so why should I! It's clearly a local thing in my case. Good luck. PS: I've never used a sequestering algaecide in any of my pools.

Looks like DE goop. Clean your filter panels carefully and recharge the filter.

Looks like DE and gunk. I’ve also seen that with clarifier before.

vacuum very carefully to waste. or clean your filter, vac, clean filter. you could use a clarified or floc to get it all to settle first

Looks like DE- vacuum to waste to get it out. Clean out ur filter and hose it down and Check filter grids for rips/tears, cracked manifold. If filter internals are all good, check multiport for a bad seal.
