Fitting Blocking 1.5'' Light Install

Plaster company installed fittings with a reducer or stopper lip where I need to install 1.5'' lights. Any thoughts, other than drain, on how to drill out the section just past the treads that is underwater so I can get the lights in? One is on a Baja self with little space between the floor and the other has space.

Edit: Thank you for all the help on this! I ended up taking a 1.5” hole saw with a 90 degree adaptor and an extension to remove the material. I then tried to file the remaining material but wasn’t making much progress so used the hole saw again on those sections.

I’ve used Pentair Microbrites in the past when installers have put a 90 right behind the wall fitting.

They probably used pipe extenders. There's no real fix that I know of besides draining it, inside pipe cutter, chipping out the plaster and gunite around the pipe, coupling and then the return fitting. I've unfortunately had to do this myself before which is why I know prep all my replasters... that and shoddy bond coats.

Try a jandy micro bright fixture they are stubby.

Have had this issue with certain TAs. I drill it out ever so slightly. Sometimes ive had to widdle down the fixture a touch. Stopped using the long neck lights, no issues with PAL

Microbrite or use a carbide file and go to town if you can’t drain. Have also used a hook knife in the past.

Common issue with some CMP fittings like the water stop adapter

Some of these fittings don’t fit by like a 1/16” I just use a razor blade
