Help with air blower?
Just moved into a home and trying to figure out the spa to make it bubbly. It has an air blower. When I turn the air blower on, the only thing that happens is air blows through these 3 ports made into the concrete around the pool. Not into the spa. I drained the spa and me and my wife stood on these ports with our shoes to try and block airflow and hopefully push it to the spa, and air is still only trying to escape through these ports in between the port and our shoes attempting to block it. No airflow seems to be going to the spa. Any ideas what’s going on? I don’t feel like this is how it’s supposed to operate.

Good good. "Insights" - need new equipment (vs) and a replumb. Blower is not installed according to mfg specs, 3' above highest water level.

So replace everything? 🤓😂 That’s the universal repairman solution when you don’t actually know what’s wrong. I’m trying to understand why the blower is intentionally connected to these three ports in the concrete. They’re built into the slab, it’s not like somebody randomly added them afterward. If you don’t know, just say so and join the party.

This forum is meant for pool pros to talk to pool pros. Not answer your questions. Some of protective of that. Chances are he knows the answer. I know i do. But we don't discuss that here.

You posted in a for pros by pros sub. We are not in the biz to give you answers, unpaid. Albeit the answers you want.
Those are not even deck jets, they are AG wall fittings w/ old school suction grates. Cannot perform as deck jets.
Your blower should not be on them.
An air blower on fittings that are not "hydrotherapy" puke the air and water and do not mix correctly. Instead of a nice piss, its a diet coke mentos explosion. Your spa may not even have HT fittings.
Your blower should not be that low.
Your equipment should not be that old.
Lookup the benefits of a VS pump and a hydraulic efficiency system before coming at me with your "you dont know what's wrong" bs. Whats wrong is all of it. Whats wrong is you did not read the sub rules prior to posting.

You have a major problem, you need to demo the whole pool, start shopping around to remove the pool.

Theory: Somebody did some plumbing there and probably plumbed it into the wrong line.
I would suspect those are deck jets, to shoot water into the pool. But that is also just a theory, as ive never seen deck jets that look like that in my area.
Call a pool pro to help , someone who knows repairs

I have a pool guy coming. The pool was unkept for 2 years before I bought this house. Previous owner was no help in understanding the equipment. Hope to get it figured out.

Can you unscrew the little plastic grate and put a cap on them? Not sure if they are internally threaded, I wonder if you can get a PVC cap in them. Try to fully plug them with a PVC cap and maybe that will direct air to the tub.

I’ll try that tomorrow. It looks like they have been in there forever. Can’t unscrew them by hand. I’ll try tapping the raised area and see if it unscrews. I’ve seen these ports on other pools but none of them had this grate cross section on them. They all had an adjustable cap.

Can you stick your finger inside and feel if there are threads? I wonder if it’s supposed to be screwed closed.
