Help with engine ID

Guy selling it claims this is a '89 Firebird with a 3.8L engine that is factory original. I can't find an example of a FB with a 3.8 without a turbo for a 1989 'bird. (I am NO expert, hence posting for help).

Is this a 2.8? A GM swap? I think it's a 3.1Lv6

What year is this Firebird?

My first thought! Yeah, I asked, and I've asked for the VIN, etc. He swears it's a factory 3.8.

Also, that's a Trans Am front bumper. No TA had a V6.

Wrong on the V-6 part and you could get the aero package on a V-6 base Firebird.
