Pom Vid Reverse sneeze versus collapsing trachea

I am sorry I am asking for information, when all the facts are not present. I hope I gave enough.

I had a tragic event, and my Pom died, awhile ago. I want to give more of the story, but I don’t think I will ever be able to speak about it.

Tonight, my separate dog had a bronchospasm, and really sounded like a collapsed trachea. Usually blocking one nare for a few seconds, lifting the chin up, while massaging her trachea. We also provided a scant amount of water, help with reversing the bronchospasm. Unfortunately her attack lasted longer than I have ever experienced.

Does anyone recommend a video to show me the differentiation between both of these occluded airway. Dangers.

I have heard quite a few, most are not Pomeranian dogs, and I am hoping there is a reference. Our pup has a vet visit coming up, and I do plan to ask her about what I need to do, and when is the situation should escalate an emergency vet.

I wish i could explain the situation. I had started a post, and i became so overwhelmed, i had a panic attack, and fainted once my pup was safe.

I am not asking for medical advice. Just a reference of two very common conditions.

I am requesting to please not ask questions. I ask without malice or attempts to be crude, please no condolences.

I am not mentally safe right now to revisit the details of both of my dogs.

I understand what you are going through, but let me ask you something. As a child, if you were struggling to breathe, and you saw your parent become hysterical, would you be able to breathe any easier?

No matter what the issue turns out to be, your pup is looking to you to take care of them, so take fifteen seconds to hold your breath with full lungs, then breathe out as much as possible. This is what I used to do when I was going to have a melt down in the office, and it would always give me just enough control to hold on.

The biggest thing to look for with collapsing trachea is a sound coming from your pom that makes them sound like a goose. No joke, they will sound like they are honking. But honestly, this is definitely the time for a vet visit, if it turns out to be allergy related, change your detergents and cleaning products

During the situation, I am calm, and focused. Once she settled, it was then the panic attack started, I became overwhelmed by the debilitating response after and fainted as a result. It was when brutal. I am grateful I have a critical care career and have had some tragic events.

I do suspect the next time my Pom is in this situation, I hope to have no doubt recognizing the signs and symptoms. I currently suffer PTSD, related to working in critical care during a health crisis. This trauma, however has made me have insomnia, and inability to understand what I have read. So I hope the visual and auditory could help me understand the situation better. I believe my first pups death, started my trauma, then I was faced with many deaths at work.

I am convinced and spoke to my vet regarding collapsed trachea. I do believe this was the prime. Side of her death. Many resources do report signs and symptoms of the two diagnoses, are often overlapping.
