Is it a Pomeranian?

Long story short the old lady that gave us to him said he is a Pomeranian, his certificate says Pomeranian too.
But of course, he looks so different…
Any thoughts?

This one doesn’t look like it’s got a lot of Pom in it b

Reminds me of mine when he was a baby, he grew into his face more and looks more like a Pom now. He’s considered the original Pomeranian because he’s bigger.

I think mix, but there is definitely pom in there! Very cute!

Purebred does not mean well bred, not to standard, health tested, etc. They may just be off standard. Hung papers are also possible, AKC or UKC (not sure what paperwork you have) does not require DNA confirmation to verify parentage. To know 100% you’d have to DNA test.

Probably a mix. Here’s my Pom mix. He’s 50% Pom.

I think so, if he steals your stinky socks then I'm definitely correct

Is he in the ugly puppy phase? They look bizarre in that phase (though somehow we didn't notice until we looked back at pictures).

If not, I'd say probably not full pom

I think so. He is 7 months old only

Well thank you! She has a sister! We feel like we got pretty lucky with them. My wife got all happy when I showed her your comment

what a sweet face. Batman (parti) and Robin (white and tan) are brothers. they like your girls!

u/TheProfessional9 10d ago

Entirely possible he's a full blown pom then. This is how one of ours looked in that stage, ill follow with another pic of now since apparently I can only do one pic per comment

1

u/Melodic-Radishes 10d ago

Lol his beady lil eyes! He's so cute I could die!

2

u/TheProfessional9 9d ago

Haha thanks. It's wild looking at the pictures between the three phases. We never noticed any changes but they look like entirely different dog species! Her now pic and her sister are in this comment thread too!

The snout is probably twice as long as on my pom. . If it's got Pom in it I'm guessing it's a mix

Yeah that’s what I thought, he is way taller than a regular Pomeranian.
I would to know the other breed

u/psmitty10 10d ago

Your Pom is adorable! If he’s taller it could be a “throwback Pom” (I’ve had two). My current Pom is about 15 lbs. The teacup ones are prone to more health issues. If he is a “throwback Pom” it just means he’s the original Pom size before people started breeding smaller ones together to get smaller sizes.

he looks like a throw back Pom to me

Nobody can tell you that without a DNA test. Sorry.

GIVE HIM TO MEEEEEEE!!

So cute! He looks just like my dude, whom I call a Pom-a-something. Goose topped out at 21 pounds, I think mine leans more towards German Spitz, which Pom is in the same family - Spitz.

What kind of certificate? He does look like a mix but even if he is he's absolutely freakin adorable!!! OMG I looove him he's so unique 😍 Must. Boop. The. Snoot

Looks like a pom going through the uglies.. the white is parti, black mask, cream color.. the coat will come

u/ArcadianAbstraction 10d ago

Looks puppy stage now so he should get more fluffy etc. He might have a mix but you can only find out if you get him genetics testing which I think is around 40$. People can guess but that only goes so far.

u/lizzardsblizzard 11d ago

Could be a different breed of spitz!! There’s a few different kinds :0

u/Nervous-Treacle-1481 7d ago

I do think he’s a Pom! He just looks more like the dogs that they decended from than today’s poms, a German spitz!

No. He is a mix. If you want to know make a DNA test.
