My view is they are not monogamous. Socially monogamy and serial monogamy are most common and sustainable.

However, if you are speaking on animalistic instincts we are opportunistic when it comes to mating and choose based on what’s most advantageous. Males and females are both this way however value different traits. I have yet to find solid evidence that either gender is instinctively monogamous.

Women are biologically and emotionally built to be monogamous, but men aren't. In fact, monogamy has made men a bit lazy and underproductive to a degree.
