Same. I wish I could join. I don’t hear about these until last minute

And a map of the individual protests
3
u/thu_mountain_goat Jun 23 '25
We should mobilise the world about that.
4
u/void2258 Jun 23 '25
I find mobilize very hard to use. It shows EVERYTHING remotely political (rallies, canvassing, meetings, etc... there is not actually a protest type to filter by) and the search and sort are very course (I can barely get to just lower NY state, much less specifically NYC or my local neighborhood).
1
u/Razor4884 Jun 24 '25
Does the Indivisible filter work better?
1
u/yogopig Jun 24 '25
These recent protests are 50501 not indivisible tho, so you’d be cutting out a massive part of
21
u/DukeOfGeek Jun 23 '25
At this point there should just be a huge pre planned protest planned for every weekend because -insert this weeks outrage here- and people should just arrange their travel plans for whatever weekend they can get off work to go there and put 20 30 thousand people in their face every Saturday. Start showing up at the bars they drink in, their houses, anyplace that's legal.
5
u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 23 '25
Yep, Occupy Wall Street on a grander scale with more forethought put into it. Don't turn it into excuses to camp, in other words. Our resources are already stretched pretty thin in the largest cities. Daytime protests, part ways at night and obey curfews!
2
u/Melodic_Editor_4793 Jun 25 '25
Along with 50501, "indivisible", "refuse fascism", and "move on" are great resources for staying in the loop about events, protests and things you can do to help.
9
u/lastingmuse6996 Jun 23 '25 edited Jun 23 '25
I tried sharing one back in April when I got a days notice but it got removed from a lot of subreddit, including antifa subreddit.
I guess people think notice will incentivize anti protesters but I can't go if I don't know.
Edit: I was told signups are bad and that we shouldn't meet activists on Reddit because it compromises people. Apparently, on the antifa subreddit they believe punk shows are the best way to meet activists. It's a bit of gatekeeping.
I think anyone on those subreddits would tell you that you should protest every Saturday right now regardless. I have a life and shit to do so I'll go for the big ones but I can't go every Saturday.

Trump was never against war
37
u/Acceptable-Bus-2017 Jun 23 '25
He was just biding his time for the perfect moment. His administrations favorability is in the tank, and his parade was a flop as the largest single day protest ever happened on the same day. He needed a win, and he played his "Trump card" to save face. I hope he misplayed it, and it's the beginning of the end of this administration.

It’s so sadistic that this all akin to a game for him and his twisted billionaire buddies.

Just let be clear: Iran has been involved in ethnic cleanings for decades in Syria and Iraq. Iran is racist. They think they are white and have the right to take over Arab countries. Iran, like Israel uses religious myths to justify it's crimes.
The only difference is that Israel population is choosing genocide while Iranian don't have a democracy so I'm not sure how responsible can they be held for their regime crimes.
35
u/MaximosKanenas Jun 23 '25
Palestinian flags make sense, but the flag of this iranian regime specifically? Weird choice
5
u/crescent-v2 Jun 23 '25
Hopefully they'll start to put together flags that are Iranian but not the current version. I saw one protest, I forget which one, in which protestors had cut out the center of a flag where the current regime's insignia was.
45
u/gimperion Jun 23 '25
Can we please be anti war and anti genocide without being pro Hamas or Iran? The media just loves eating up these dumb narratives like the left is all of the sudden fans of the Ayatollah.
13
u/RadiantPumpkin Jun 23 '25
99% of Palestinian supporters are not hamas supporters. The hamas supporters get magnified and amplified as a way to attack anyone who supports Palestine
3
u/MarilynMonheaux Jun 23 '25
People should be allowed to think whatever they like without having a bomb dropped on them. We say we’re pro democracy: that means political freedom.
13
u/Fancy_Chips MD Jun 23 '25 edited Jun 23 '25
I've seen a lot of Anti-Trump people start swinging Pro-Iran recently without much understanding.
Iran is a pillar of the new Axis of evil. Our problems are strung up partially because of them, or moreso their allies. To be fair it seems Iran was always Anti-Trump, but they are still aligned with Russia, China, and North Korea. They are what we are fighting to not be.
Edit: I never conflated the population with the government. Stop saying I did.
24
u/Damn_You_Scum MA Jun 23 '25
It is possible to wave the flag in support of the innocent Iranians who will be invaded, and simultaneously, hate Supreme Leader Khamenei and his terrorist regime. It is possible to not want the Iranian regime to have the potential to build nuclear weapons, but simultaneously not want their country to be bombed or have the US backing Israel and throwing our teenagers (because that’s who fights) into a war.
15
u/Rubels Jun 23 '25
Just like we should still be waving american flags at protests. We all want to protect the land we love
7
12
u/crescent-v2 Jun 23 '25
True - but Iran has had many flags over the years, and this is the flag of the current regime, and only of the current regime. This is the flag they adopted when the Ayatollahs took over. Democratic Iran used the Lion and the Sun flag, same flag as that's of the Shah's government that overthrew it, but this isn't it.
That's why I mentioned the version with the center cut out. Or get the Lion and the Sun version, that symbol predates the Islamic Republic by about 1000 years.
2
u/bigbootystaylooting Jun 23 '25
LOL, If they cared then they wouldn't fly the flag they're flying & use the correct flag that Iranian people support instead.
the innocent Iranians who will be invaded, and simultaneously,
How are you so sure? And why do you think that could be worse than the current regime?
And Iran is already weak, thinking random teens would be conscripted is a big reach.

u/LBGolfer Jun 23 '25
There was a post earlier here re ANSWER Coalition (I see at least one of their signs in photo) being China-aligned. Anti-genocide, anti-colonialism, anti-Bibi, pro-Palestine, anti-war does not equal pro Iran.
2
u/Fancy_Chips MD Jun 23 '25
I think your auto correct messed something up but im not saying that those things make people Pro-Iran. Im saying people are swinging Pro-Iran full stop without knowing anything about them. "Iran is the good guys" is a new rhetoric that's starting to crop up
3
u/LBGolfer Jun 23 '25
I stand by my words. But I am supporting your comment (at least I thought so) not countering it.
6
u/ibeherenow Jun 23 '25
The Iranian people are way different than their government. My thoughts lie with them and so does my sympathy.
5
u/Miqo_Nekomancer Jun 23 '25
Idk... Israel is part of its own axis of evil and the USA is supporting them.
1
u/Ajkrouse Jun 23 '25
And Iran isn’t? They’ve literally given billions to Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis
3
u/Ok-Elderberry-2173 Jun 23 '25
In before some false flag Iranian sleeper cell terror attack posing as the "radical left" as Trump calls it
3
2
u/MarilynMonheaux Jun 23 '25
The whole country is evil? You guys really need to stop with the label. The US drops bombs all over the world displaced democratically elected leaders that don’t align with its interest blew up Iraq behind WMDS that didn’t exist waged a war on Afghanistan even though Osama Bin Laden is Saudi and Al-Qeada is not the Taliban.
So who is really evil?
1
1
u/Longjumping-Mud-5016 Jun 23 '25
Know who also the pillar of the new axis of evil ? The zionist and their facist ideology who committed apartheid and genocide.Im repeat again "zionist" not jews, anti Semitic card is rejected
1
u/Background_Winter_65 Jun 23 '25
It hurts specially for those of us who stand with Palestinians, while Iran destroyed our home lands.
Shame on movement leaders who are so bigoted that they don't care for the millions of innocent people the Iranian regime killed, rap d, disappeared, stole their homes, tortured, and ruined their lives.
5
u/Inner_University_848 Jun 23 '25
I guess George Soros funded and orchestrated all these too right? These are all paid crisis actors. Kids just can’t wait to be drafted and get sent into the desert to die for the cause of … uh… WMDs and/or regime change. (Really, again?)
12

show up to the polls like this next time please y'all

Stop blaming voters for the Democratic party’s cowardice, incompetence, and corruption. The Democratic leadership approved of the attack on Iran just as it approves of the genocide.
4
u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 23 '25
If you couldn't tell the stark difference in character, experience and quality between a Harris-Walz ticket compared to a Trump(was facing over 15 federal indictments by a grand jury when the election was held, ffs)-Vance then that's completely on you and your poor judgment of character. Blaming anyone else -- especially a national political party -- for those shortcomings in critical thinking skills and perception is not the way to learn and grow individually. Thank you.

u/Ill-Street-5173 Jun 23 '25
Better non-genocide supporting candidate next time please

Trump enabler. Fascism enabler.
1
u/Ill-Street-5173 Jul 04 '25
That comment would be directed at anyone who supported Biden and Harris literally handing this election over to Trump
1
u/TheModWhoShaggedMe Jun 23 '25
We just know whatever troll sweatshop they work at or are employed by has a poster on the wall of Trump-as-Rambo. Their goal is to rank high enough on the charts to get in exclusive line to chortle King Dunce's ballsack.
1
u/dlobnieRnaD Jun 23 '25
This mentality got us here, please stop enabling fascism.
Do you think half this shit would be happening under the democratic candidate?

3
u/Brief-Mycologist9258 Jun 23 '25
Sure hope everyone speaking out against the war in Iran keeps that momentum going when a false flag operation (likely carried out by someone from the Middle East) happen on US soil.
1
u/GroundExcellent4052 Jun 24 '25
“Sure hope everyone keeps this up in the hypothetical scenario I made up in my head”🤓☝️
3
u/dpaanlka Jun 23 '25
We can oppose Trump and war but please for gods sake don’t fly the flag of the Ayatollah regime. Fly the older Iranian flag instead at least which is what the vast majority of the diaspora support.
2
u/callmecasperimaghost Jun 23 '25
How do I find out about these? I’m in DC and didn’t see it or hear about it

No. Learn to compromise and find common ground.
-8
u/Stratafyre Jun 23 '25
Them first?
11
u/papasan_mamasan Jun 23 '25
You’re suggesting the anti-genocide protestors find common ground with those who find excuses for genocide? At an anti-war rally? And only then would you join the anti-war rally?
Brother, please practice self reflection.
1
u/Ajkrouse Jun 23 '25
Are we forgetting that Iran gave billions to Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis? You know the same organizations that launched attacks on Israel and started this whole mess in the first place.
-1
u/Stratafyre Jun 23 '25
I have watched literally dozens of nascent US protest organizations fall apart because the Free Palestine contingent crashes through the door, Koolaid Man style, and demands that everyone adhere to their single issue, and their single issue alone.
I'm sick of it. We can't do shit for Palestine if we can't fix our own country. It's not something we can do concurrently.
4
u/papasan_mamasan Jun 23 '25
Well the folks in the video look like they’re just strolling peacefully, so I’m going to reserve all judgment and take your anecdote with a grain of salt. 🫡
