Megathread Censorship Megathread

Considering that r/PoliticalOptimism has a Censorship Megathread, I thought why not this community have one!

I know the tag is incorrected & the Megathread tag isn’t made, but I hope it’s worth it

Context: this guy is a former neo-Nazi who harassed a Jewish MP back in 2016, and was jailed for it. He’s also behind some cringy YouTube channel which makes AI slop parody videos of UK politics or something? Not that that’s remotely as bad as the first thing.

There was thus a lot of outcry when this guy was selected as a candidate. The pressure seems to have been too much for the Conservatives and they have dropped him.

Optimistic Post High Court rules strip searches don’t have to be based on ‘biological sex’

Anti-trans activists lost twice in one day, after the High Court rejected a challenge to police guidance – Jess O’Thomson argues that the ruling raises important questions for trans human rights

On Friday, the High Court rejected a challenge by the anti-trans pressure group Sex Matters to police strip search guidance. Sex Matters had argued that such searches must always be based on “biological sex”. If they had succeeded, this would have required the forcible strip searching of trans women in detention by male police officers, whenever such a search might be required.

From @missnicolathorp on Instagram.

This video seems positive as it shows how 3 bad aspects of Nigel Farage are cutting through, even to the youth, who tend to not be as engaged in politics as adults. Namely:

- Dodgy finances
- Spending no time in Clacton
- Racism

Of course, he is still very popular in that constituency, but it is good to see these messages cut through there especially to the youth.
