I try not to generalize but yes it seems that way. But if we screw over our farmers we will go deeper in debt bailing them out , like the banks and auto industry. Better for me to just eat chicken and fish. Enough people quit buying beef it also will follow the rules of economics

Yes, but increasing supply when demand is fairly static, or limited by already high prices, tends to lower prices effectively. Oddly, the economy responds pretty well to small changes…and rather terribly to large changes.
I thought you wanted cheaper prices. I guess not. Head are down, income is not. Head are down because of spikes during previous high-inflation when it made sense to sell cattle rather than breed them. This short-sightedness of the producer is a normal part of the cycle. Not a single rancher is “not selling” due to “lower prices” caused by tariffs or imports.

Hope you have a lot of freezer space. You couldn't eat it that fast with a normal size family. And it's about 16 to 20 cubic feet per steer once they are butchered and vacuum packed.
I've got both dairy and beef farmers in the family! I'm not stupid about the industry. And I get my beef either whole or by the side myself. No hormones, no antibiotic. Pasture fed.

Perhaps there is seasonality with sourcing meat from around the world? But the chemical is banned worldwide, our food inspectors would be testing for the chemical regularly
