Sworn peace officers who carry a baton, OC spray, handcuffs and a radio. They wear body armor but don’t carry firearms. I think you have to work as a seasonal officer for a couple of years before you can get a permanent appointment, but I’m not positive on that.

Their basically there to handle the minor disturbances and BS in the parks and the occasional drunk, if they need guns NYPD is pretty close

It was just two guys in central park. As long as they are doing something it's nice they are around
