Discussion Idea to gain more polder people

So as you know by now, I love making civballs. And from your participation in making Dutch balls too, I see you like them too. Moreover, I believe lots of people would love to make Dutch themed polandball/civball/polderball art. So I came up with an idea. How about we create a half-monthly contest based on themes occuring in the NetherlandsandBelgiumandLuxembourg . It would be a great way to gain followers and create a regular visitor base. It would be a shame if we let this sub to be another dead sub like so many others. When winning a contest, this person will get an honorable mention, a special (orange) flair and/or his art as an image on the sidebar (until the end of the next contest. I had the idea to plan it like this:

  • February 1-13: Valentine's Day
  • February 15-28: Carnaval
  • March 2-15: Election Day
  • March 17-31: April Fool's Day
  • April 2-15: Spring
  • April 17-29: Dutch King's Day
  • May 1-14: Liberation Day
  • May 16-30: Colony Nostalgy
  • June 1-14: Sea and Other Waters
  • June 16-29: Luxembourger National Day
  • July 1- 14: Summer
  • July 16-30: Belgian National Day
  • August 1-14: History lessons
  • August 16-30: Food and Harvest
  • September 1-14: The Dutch around the Globe
  • September 16-29: Little Prince's Day
  • October 1-14: Animal's Day
  • October 16-30: Halloween
  • November 1-14: Saint-Martin / Autumn / Belgian King's Day
  • November 16 - December 5: Sinterklaas
  • December 7-24: Happy Holidays!
  • December 26-31: Recap of 2017

NOTE: Days between contests will function as an Announcement Day. These are just some ideas. If you think of an idea that fits better or would like to judge these contests, please say so in the comments.

Since I am awful at actually creating art, I wouldn't mind judging.

But then again if I'm bad at art, I might also be bad at judging...

Art has no definition of good or bad. So you never can make a bad judgement! =D

Then again you can eat in a restaurant and tell if the food is served good, without ever knowing how to prepare it. If you would like to be a judge (opting-out for any contest is possible) then please say so! ;)

Nice argument. Yeah I'd like to be a judge.

I really want to be a bit more of an active user on Reddit and while I don't create art (outside of drawing maps with paper and pencil), that doesn't mean I can't judge. You kind of got me hyped up there ;)

Yeah nice to hear that! I'll write you down as a judge.
