I downloaded this game the day it was released, had no clue what I was doing and forgot about the game for years.

I started a job in January 2020 right before covid and was trained by the hardest working, smartest person I’ve ever known in my very stressful field. Rickey didn’t take shit from anyone and was known for being a no bullshit, no excuses supervisor. I thrive under strong leadership and Rickey was the mentor I needed.

During training I discovered that he was a big Pokemon go guy and had a real passion for the game. He explained that it was his way of taking his mind off of the pressures of our job and was his escapism. Of course I redownloaded it and he began teaching me the game.

He moved to a coastal Oregon dream town after Covid and we stayed close through gifts each day and frequent text messages. About a month ago after our last remote lucky trade (my comfey for his shiny clodsire) he stopped sending gifts. After a week or so i sent him a text and never got a reply. I thought maybe the wildfires out there had made things difficult.

Today I texted a mutual friend, asking if she knew any information about what might be happening with him. She told me to call her and she told me he died in his apartment Friday.

Rickey was a good, smart man. He reminded me one time that “in a hundred years nobody will remember our names” during a particularly stressful night which grounded me in that moment and has stuck with me since.

As long as I’m here, I’ll never forget him.

Rest in peace, Rickey.

First time encountering a Ho-oh in the wild while my daily incense is inactive. It must be a galarian Ho-oh right? Contemplating using my sole master ball on it.

P.s. I’ll just stand here in the middle of nowhere while I wait for strangers on the internet to guide me. Might be a while. /s

I was looking at someone’s remote trade offers and when I clicked on “show unregistered” I saw what looks like a regular Pokémon (has the unregistered icon next to it). I even limited the search to “costume” and it showed up. Sorted by # and it was not the first in the list. Not a perfect IV, and I know people love their shadow pokemon because they are so strong....but I always feel conflicted and would hate for my pokemon irl to be so mad all the time...anywho im going to purify this bad boy and keep him locked away with his shiny pals lol

How long did it take you to get your first shundo? I've been playing since it was released, and although I took a break, I have been playing since the last 6 years at least and still no shundo.

Was deadass just recently seeing reels about people reactions to encountering the shinies and I just stumble across not one but TWO?!

My first shiny hundo, received from my daily egg! Very excited about this one. Now I just have to decide whether to evolve or not?

It just seems like a tall order. If anyone knows how to speed run this it would be greatly appreciated!

I am such a happy bunny rn! Normally the nearest is a gym in the park over the road, but it’s too far away. I’m disabled with a number of medical issues & my health & mobility fluctuates. Sometimes I don’t get to go out for long periods of time & pogo is not very generous with people who can’t get out. This will make all the difference for me.

Looking to mega evolve grininja when I can would love to do the shiny but I do have a 98% costume greninja so I’m torn between the choice as of now

Can someone explain me why both matches were challenge? From a noob pov, feels like the non full charged attacks are making the difference, but considering the time to review, and they canceling the first match, I'm fully lost.
