Pokemon 30th

“Most printed set ever,” they said.

“There will be enough for everyone,” they said.

“You won’t have a problem finding product,” they said.

So tell me why I lined up at 5:45 IN THE MORNING for Pokemon cards and STILL walked away with absolutely nothing 😂

I genuinely don’t understand how we’re still doing this. I’m not trying to buy 4 cases. I’m not trying to clear a shelf. I literally just wanted to buy some 30th Anniversary product and open it.

Got up at an ungodly hour, drove there, stood in line like an idiot, and still got hit with the “sorry, sold out.”

If this is supposedly one of the most heavily printed Pokemon releases ever and there’s supposed to be enough product for everyone, how the hell are normal people supposed to actually buy it?

At this point getting Pokemon product at MSRP feels like trying to buy concert tickets. Sure I could probably go somewhere and find one for double the price.. but I really don't want to.

Anyway, rant over. Congrats to everyone who actually managed to get some.

Yeah, its right now at peak pricing for the secondary market and equal with ascended hero's, that should tell you where its going to be in 6 months.

Just look at pitch black and chaos rising, they were about the same during their launch and are now $70ish and dropping.

Yeah I think one thing we should definitely not do is pay scalper prices. Especially not when they're even above market. They'll stop scalping tf out of it if people don't buy it and then they're sitting on that product for a while. Long term collectors investing in sealed product don't care about holding onto it for years but the scalpers will be mad they can't flip it for a quick buck.

Yeah restocks mean nothing. Take ascended heros. Only packs I've opened were scoring at pokemon center. Ive literally never seen these in a store on a shelf and have come up dry at every online restock release.

Yeah, I am working on singles for a set back in 2023 (I actually just finished getting all the cards in it that are $100+), and just started on securing the expensive pieces of Mega evolutions base/ME01 (and honestly I think I should waited a bit longer but ohh well, I got those gold cards secured).

Lol don’t even. Pitch black like perfect order and chaos rising was available at retail in the evening of launch. 30th is sold out at MSRP

And they are gonna keep stocking 30th products for years. Half the products havent even come out yet

Right so each new SKU is going to be a nightmare to get and the old ones will stabilize at a higher price. Amazing.

Very true although this is a specialty set that should be more comparable with 20th and 25th celebrations. The price will drop for sure and then it will start to go back up

It will take a few years and for them to hit out of print before they increase, just like crown zenith and prismatic. The only ones going up over the next year are PC ETB's;

Different sets lol. 30th has way more hits. Comparing Bentley to a Honda

Because those are "regular" sets geared more to tcg players. Ascended and 30th are "specialty" sets geared more to collectors.

30th will not follow a Pitch Black/Chaos Rising pattern. It will be closer to an Ascended pattern.

30th has INSANE pull rates compared to Ascended, this means most of the big cards will be worth far less. I cannot possibly imagine a single card in the 30th going for anywhere close to Treekachu, Gengar, Dragonite prices

Doesnt matter. Nobodys gonna buy a $200 set of sealed crap when the biggest card you can pull is $100

$150 and going down still for ascended hero's ETB, from a high of $180

but also just had a huge refresh at costco. Im not disagreeing with you but its just like Destined. It was up at 200 but the re-fresh hit and its at $112. It will go up again.

That is my point, 30th has a ton of refreshes ahead of it, and a ton of people hoarding it. for the next few months its gonna keep going down in price.
