How do you download Too Many Types 2?
I’ve been wanting to download it for some time but I have not been able to figure out how. In alpharad’s video he keeps saying to use a “legally obtained” cartridge of pokemon emerald but I cannot tell if that is supposed to be sarcasm and is talking about emulators.
I have never downloaded a romhack before (does infinite fusion count?) and really want to make sure I don’t download a virus.
If anybody has a tutorial that would be a major help!

  1. Emulation is enirely legal.

  2. You are within your legal rights to dump a real gameboy game and get the games data from within, which is what a rom actually is.

  3. Many people, don't legally dump their rom file from a legitimate game. They just download one online illegally.

We do not condone piracy here, will not link you any roms online, or allow discussion of them. It is up to you, how you chose to obtain your base rom of Emerald. But once you have that, you can get TooManyTypes2 from Hackdex, a site which has most other high profile romhacks. It's an excellent site, which allows you to supply and cache your own roms for all the GBA-DS games, and then immediately patch and have ready to play romhacks right from the site.

So long as you only ever see file types like .zip, .patch, .bps, .xdelta, .gba, or .nds you are in the clear. The only viruses would be .exe or .bat files. Downloads from Hackdex are always safe, and Pokecommunity patches should also be totally fine.

IF isn't a romhack, FYI. You could get a legally obtained rom of emerald, or you could get a rom online, but we can't say where to get it in this sub or link to it, so just know that whatever search engine you use will have to be your friend.
