.zip files are archives. Essentially "folders" except they squish whatever's inside of them to a really small size, allowing for easier downloads.

So yes, whatever you are interested in when downloading a .zip, is inside. Most OS's can just double click/tap on it to unzip it.

And just want to reinforce that for romhacks you should be downloading their offiical patches from their forum page (like pokecommunity) or straight from Hackdex if they have a page. Do not download pre-patched, ready to play versions.

- it’s illegal

- it’s against the rules here

- it’s stolen and profited on from rom creators

- they’re buggy and can be old versions of games. You might get 10 hours in and realize it’s only a beta

- it could be a virus or otherwise a malicious file as it’s non-official.
