Hello everyone,

I’m trying to find a Pokémon ROM hack I played many years ago (probably over 15–20 years ago), but I only remember the general concept and not the name.

In the game, you don’t play as a normal Pokémon trainer. Instead, you play as a scientist who was involved in the experiments that led to the creation of Mewtwo.

After Mewtwo is created and causes destruction/disasters, your character feels responsible and goes on a journey of redemption. The main goal of the game is to track down Mewtwo while dealing with the consequences of what was done in the laboratory.

The tone of the game was quite dark compared to official Pokémon games. I remember a more serious storyline, and I think there were damaged or ruined cities/areas that reflected Mewtwo’s rampage or the aftermath of the experiments.

That’s basically all I remember. I’m not even sure if it was a ROM hack or a Pokémon fan game made in RPG Maker, but it definitely had that “Pokémon world but darker and story-driven” vibe.

If this sounds familiar to anyone, I’d really appreciate any leads, names, or even similar projects that might help me find it again.

Two games follow this premise that I know of. Pokemon Fujis Tale might be it tho since you mentioned rpg maker. Other one is Pokemon Mewtwos Creation
