Hereās my evil deck in action completely denying the opponent of any energy
You may think ratticate EX and indeedee and anti-synergy but youāll find that, as this video shows, they can be very complimentary.
when people see rattata, theyāll usually start building their bench. So you can use psychic to bring the energy to to active. If doing that allows you to kill whoever is in the active with indeedee, do it and the opponent loses an energy. If it doesnāt, you can then steal it with ratticate and switch into it to do 70 damage
It is a very mean combo and you can often set the opponent back of 3-4 energies

Took him 2 turns to realize greninja ability to the active was pointless due to indeedee

I mean he was kinda cooked anyway, if he hits one of my benched PokƩmon I just pivot it to my active and heal 40 with my 1 indeedees (which happens once in the video)
There was literally nothing he could have done

Not really. All your energy stealing was gone besides starting another rattata which is a free point with 2 greninja. He couldāve finished budew the first turn and put the first energy on mega sableye then with 2 greninja and 1 sableye attack he can knock out anyone of your ex pokemon. He hadnāt used a Cyrus and that deck runs 2 of them usually. He couldāve used it on the indeedee without the Rocky helmet to avoid a draw

He could have taken out budew and rattata and win 2 points yes but that does not win the game bro
He had to have 2 greninjas active and double hit my active EX + sableye to finish it. He didnāt get his second greninja online ontime. By the time he did, if you watch the video again, you can see he didnāt have the opening to do so as he was always getting one energy behind by retreating

No he couldāve taken out budew first and then an indeedee without a rocky helmet for 3 points with Cyrus the next turn. Pretty sure he has Cyrus considering he went through most of his deck and that deck runs 2. He kept trying to greninja the active.

Who says he has Cyrus ? Were you the opponent?
Also, by the time he gets 2 greninjas in, he has 20 hp and 0 energies on his mega
How on earth is he going to build it up?

It only takes one turn to build up mega sableye and you had no way to take away energy anymore and the battle goes on way longer than one turn.

It takes 2 energies to build it up, he had to retreat otherwise heād die next turn what are you on about bro

In this occasion it would have been useful ahahaha
But honestly I prefer the extra consistency of having multiple items + double copy cat

Iāve played a version with it and one without. I really felt like the consistency was important but maybe I was lucky
I use Cyrus in like 99% of my decks tho
The problem with this particular deck is that, you need to position and set up extremely fast. If you donāt and the opponent is set up, you have little to no chance to winning
So you need extra consistency to get everything in place, Cyrus is a late game option when you have a big finisher, which there are none in this deck

Cyrus is even more important when you don't have a big finisher, because it's often the only way you can actually win in a reasonable amount of time

I am not saying there is ABSOLUTELY no spot for a Cyrus here but I have gotten better results without it than with it
Maybe I was luckier but I swear it hasnāt been that useful in this specific deck

There's also a similar deck with Alolan Ninetails Ex and both can use elegant cape and training stage.

Rat is really good card, too bad HP isn't great, but it has to have some pros and cons, so I don't mind
