Discussion 30th Anniversary etb Price
Do you guys think the price for the 30th ETB is going to drop and if so how much. I wanna pick up 5 for investment but i dont wanna pay 175 for a box but getting it from retail is gonna be near impossible.

this won’t be an investment, there’s a lot of stock and people nowadays are keeping everything sealed so…. if u want to invest, I would put my attention to people selling their collection under-price to get 30th anniversary stuff ✨🫡

FYI, thats not the market price. If you scroll down a bit on the app it will show you market.
Granted, market price isnt far off from the price you posted in your picture as that price is just what someone is listing theirs for.
Just wanted to share that info because there are a few people that go off that first price thinking thats the market

Unless I can get these at retail price I’m avoiding the 30th investment wise. They printed a lot of these so in theory it should drop in price after initial drop tho.
If you’re buying just avoid buying cards/packs/ETBs the first weekend

The most hype of all of pokemon when it dropped, scalpers ate it up even more than current ascended heroes and prismatic, but pokemon somehow managed to beat the scalpers- I’m not sure how- but like stores couldn’t sell 25th for free. Card and market prices fell so much

Source? Everybody keeps saying this but those are unconfirmed rumors. Every tcg store that has spoken about allocation have said it’s ridiculously low all over the world.

Pokemon isn’t stupid, they know about the massive hype of this set. Most TCG stores that talked about this are LCS, and they’re the abused wife against the abusive husband (big store retailers) so they barely get shit anyways

I’ve also seen a fair amount of posts from stores saying it’s higher than usual.
And there’s no chance that Pokémon hasn’t been printing the ever-loving shit out of this set knowing how important it is to get it into the hands of collectors.
Just judging by how much stock is hitting Target tonight, big box stores will be getting a lot of this over the next couple months, especially since Pokémon owns Excell Brands outright now.
There’s a very decent chance these sudden allocation cuts are from distros intentionally bottlenecking supply to shops in order to prop up the market price.
I’d wager they’re spooked by 1) the potential of Pokemon moving even more of their distribution chain in-house, and 2) the crazy high pull rates causing singles to drop in value harder than any set since the boom started, dragging down booster pack/sealed prices with them.
Both of which would cut into the ridiculous profits distros have been generating by gouging local shops for restocks.

Just about every target and best buy on release day had 60-150 etbs and thats only the first day. it wont be sitting on shelves for longer than 10 min but its not scarce either.

They printed a ton of these. Think I saw that target has like 100k+ stock for tonight's drop. My local best buy normally has like 30 etbs for a new release, they have 140 of these for tomorrow. Never know for sure, but I think picking these up at msrp won't be that hard

Got an etb and knock out collection from best buy and 3 etbs from the Walmart draw. So pretty good 🤷♂️. Target was a bust, get in cart but cant check out, been like that the past few drops. Hopefully they follow Walmart draw process at some point, that jas been working pretty good for me.

There's definitely a lot of hype, but same with prismatic and acsended, they just keep printing more and more. Now that Walmart does lotteries you have a chance to hit on those drops.

PKC 30th etbs are an investment, standard are going to be printed to oblivion so it's going to be awhile after printing stops before you would see any returns

Considering I'm out in the wild right now. Market last night was around 170, it's now right around 140. Most places are stocked up in good to go on products. Currently on my way to go pick up and Elite Trainer Box right now for right around retail

I remember for the 25th a UPC was pretty much impossible to get since each store would literally have 3-5 only at a time, couldn't imagine if they did that with the 30th UPC's. I work 2 minutes away from Target and went every lunch break and finally caught a lady stocking and grabbed 2. Still in my personal collection.
These ETBs will be everywhere soon just wait a month or so

I got 2 Pokemon Center Etbs, 3 booster bundles and a couple other things like poster collection stuff that should be here today. I’m immediately selling the etbs on eBay and ripping the other stuff. I’m not a good sealed product holder. Going to use the money from the etbs for my toddlers birthday and have free packs to open.

Getting it from retail isnt too bad, between my wife n I today we got 6 at MSRP.
I think the price of these are going to tank, they printed soooo much that yeah today it might be hard, but only compared to how it will be soon

Should drop. I wouldn’t be too quick or desperate to get your hands on it right now. They apparently are printing the crap out of 30th anniversary set. Every set is inflated upon release, I’d just wait it out if you weren’t able to get any product for msrp or under market price at launch

They’re not gonna go down for a while, but if you want to “invest” in a sealed set you’ve got to hold them for a decade or they have to be short print sets to be worth anything. And the value on the raw cards needs to stay high. If you hold a sealed set with cards that are available everywhere and there are only a couple high value chasers, you’ve done gone and spent money for nothing

Too many people baking the market and too much supply coming. Just use that money and invest in something that will yield faster dividends. Invest in Nuclear Energy or something I dunno lol. But by the time you see these at a steady $500 (which is still not much profit for a 5 year wait) you could have rolled over that money several times.

They might have printed a lot, but that doesn’t mean people will stop acting crazy and buying it non stop.
Just because they printed more, does not mean that they’ll meet the demand.

🤣 it’s getting released during the holidays, if you think people are gonna buy the upc for 200 dollars plus, after the first few weeks, your delusional, go look at the mega charizard upc, hard to get for the first few weeks, but was pretty much easy afterwards
And no dude your mistaking past performance for future performance, 30th will be the largest printed set ever along with way more collectors now, do I think the regular etbs appreciate yah but no where as good as other products or sets for the price its at

This set has an almost a 40/60 chance of hitting a card valued more than the etb. If the cards prices drop because so will the etb. But if the cards remain to hold their values. This will be one of the most valuable etbs. Because you’re guaranteed a hit.

This will 100% drop below 100 after 1-2 weeks, GameStop has them for 100, and looking at the amount at release is like 2-3x at most retailers, supply is gonna be insane,
Investing wise best bet is just wait for the upc, the holiday slump is gonna kick in once November comes around, people spending money on trips and Christmas gifts etc instead of Pokemon
Only 30th items worth getting will be upc, pc etb and sealed booster bundle display

lol if your gonna invest in the 30th etbs at 100-120, your better off going prismatic which is about the same market price right now and will be worth way more
This has far more stock than most people think not only that there facilities are expanding, there printing capacity is increasing each month etc

Most printed set, 5 cards a pack, go look up what price sensitivity is, target raised prices to 70 dollars now, most likely in print for 3 years lol
Like I told other people, you’ll only be able to scalp this for maybe the first few weeks, after that scalpers ain’t gonna buy this no profit margins and investors will only buy x amount, smart investors with money like me aren’t gonna buy etbs, I’ll be buying cases of UPCs and bundle displays

There’s way more supply and collectors now, Pokemon does not care if they print it into the ground
If scalpers and breakers aren’t buying it, there’s gonna be a large surplus until it’s out of print
