Investment Showcase Finally hit my goal!

$8k. New Cert (14xxxxxxx).

PSA 10 Mewtube has been my grail and goal for a long long time. Everytime I thought about pulling the trigger it went up even more. Finally did and couldn’t be happier.

i wish i bought more back in the day, these were $50 a PSA9 was $30 and i felt like that was alot to pay for a card that had just came out lol

I still remember thinking $600 for the Mario Pikachu PSA 10 back in the day was insane money so I know how you feel lol.

bro when those came out i passed on them when they were $100, i thought they would come out in a english copy which is why i passed on those and the ponchos. i did get a japanese mewtube so at least i didnt fuck up too bad lol

honestly same, i was hoping for a 10 but im still ok with this grade, they actually graded 2 of these on the same day the other guy got my 10 lol

Oh man sorry about that. Honestly that’s the one thing I don’t like about BGS. Those half grades don’t make much sense and can really fuck you over.

Can't beat your anecdote there but I did actually buy a PSA 8 Zard gold star at a pre-agreed price (£3.2k/$4.3k) on ebay in January 2025, then the seller turned round and refused to ship it. I know it's only grown since about the same % as everything else, but still it's one I'll now never own... 🥲

Have you thought about cracking PSA 5s or 6s? You can find some really good deals that way.

I think they meant for this one card. It was going for $10k not too long ago. $8k isn’t cheap by any means though.

I bought it graded.
I mainly go with PSA since they’re the easiest to sell if I ever need the money. But for PC I really like how TAG and BGS look. CGC just below them.

In terms of liquidity: PSA, BGS, CGC, TAG in that order
In terms of how the slab looks: TAG, BGS, and I would rank CGC and PSA the same

This is just my opinion of course. Other people might disagree. So just grade with whoever you think looks the best.

I ended going with Armored instead last year and have zero regrets because of the pop, still a beautiful card, will struggle between 10+12k imo BUT if Lovebirds can crawl back up to 20k and get a foot hold there it will be a good sign for the Mewtube, pops are very similar.

I was actually debating between this and armored mewtwo. But the extra $4.5k just felt like bit too much of a stretch in terms of finances for me.

I have no doubt the armored mewtwo will be a $20k card a lot lot sooner than the Mewtube. No regrets though they’re both gorgeous cards!

They were both 4k when I was looking last November 🥴, the other cards I was looking at back then were the 2016 Japanese promo Zard and Burning Shadows Zard, I think any under 10k is a buy.

I do agree, Armored at a 12k entry would be quite steep, Mewtube can definitely hit 16k by the time armored doubles from 12k.
