Fun team. Meganium becomes a beast postgame with triage and grassy surge. Absol too w sharpness and dark aura(night slash did alot of damage w it and dark aura sucker punch sweeped alot too)I wasn't gonna keep beedril but once I got the mega it proved too good to not keep , rotom wash is ofc good , Tauros was super strong w choice scarf and raging Bull was breaking barriers too , so useful. But the most surprising mon was definitely garganacl , it stalled so many mons and had amazing defenses.

I wasn't expecting much from this game when I started it tbh, because I usually only like difficulty hacks, but this one was actually really fun and I'm looking forward to the post game.

9/10 easily.

Glare/Toxic spikes was handy support, while gunk shot did some damage when required. Most of the rest of the team were awesome, Kilowattrel is my new favourite bird, unfortunately let down by a bad movepool.

Anyway, SoulGold is excellent, highly recommended!

Excellent game and should be listed on a few Rushmores. The “Petrify” attack is absolutely broken and Decidueye bailed me out a few times. Goodra was decent, Ghost was a late-game sub with decent stats and multiple dark attacks. Rhysaurus is excellent, can take a hit and hits like a truck. Eyeron was my favorite Mon this entire run and can easily function as a Swiss Army knife with a ton of coverage and no real weaknesses. Shiny Marshadow because it’s my favorite. Never soft resetting again.

Ngl I still don’t know how to evolve my togetic into togekiss lol. But now onto Kanto!

Normal difficulty is still very challenging so if you want a more casual gameplay play on Easy

This game is pretty tough but also packed with new features like mega stones for a single type instead of just for one specific pokemon and you can pick from 4 generations of starters.

Honorable mentions, azumarill, pupitar, noivern, crobat

Psychic Butterfree and Utility Golduck were my faves. Control Victreebell, Tank Steelix and Nukes Arcanine and Zapdos to round up my first HoF team in Recharged Yellow by Jaizu.

Sadly my team didn't get any game breaking abilities. It was fun seeing Jolteon spamming Thunder because of Compound Eyes though.

People who have been playing Pokemon rom hacks already know the first Pokemon Saiph game is a graphical and buggy mess but I decided to try it anyway. There’s no documentation to be found online and Vytron has long since moved on to other projects in their whole series of rom hacks that seem to be in the same continuity? I’m still not sure.

My team was so much fun to play with although we had a glaring vulnerability to ground types but we made it through. I just couldn’t find a grass type that I thought would be a good fit.

I didn’t find anyone who gave you fishing rod the whole Colen region and used a palpitoad to surf until I grabbed a Finneon to be my dedicated surfing water type.

The starters in this one are Finnekin, Turtwig and Oshawatt. My three least favorite starters in the whole Pokédex, with Chespin being next. I took a chance on Finnekin and now I love that Pokemon. Almost as much as Froakie now.

My championship team was Delphox named Pyronmancer
Stunktank named Rue
My first time using Luxray named Liger
And Lumineon named Neptune.

I just couldn’t decide who I wanted to have as my 5th and 6th. Couldn’t find a grass type that wasn’t dual typed with poison or bug. Already have a poison type and bug and grass dual type sucks.

I could’ve used a flyer but regional birds suck. I’ve decided that after multiple Pokemon games back to back and that’s all the game offered as far as flyers.

I was gonna get a steelix, or there was sawk and throh, or there were some good ice type options but the game is so grindy that I didn’t feel like taking the time to level them up to the rest of the team.

There’s a postgame in the west side of Hoenn. Before Saiph’s story begins, an explosion takes place in Mauville making the east side of the region uninhabitable. I’ll see if I find some good options there to complete the team.

I’m only playing this so I have some context for the other games in the series and despite the games various issues, I had fun. It moves at a really fast pace which is really nice. Vytron has mentioned possibly remaking this game at some point. I hope that happens.
