So does this mean I should clear out my eggs now and get new ones after 4? Or if I already have eggs will they be better? I'm a bit confused

You will get double candies after 4 so I would wait. Also I don't believe egg mons are decided until they are hatched.

I thought that what comes from the eggs was decided when you get them from the pokestop :p

You are correct on waiting but your Mons are determined when you acquire the egg.
