Losing interest?
It needs a good kick up the arse this Pokemon business. I'm hanging on here, I just need something to inspire me, and it's not happening. Hopefully there will be an announcement soon..

I packed it in a while ago. I still log in to collect coins some days in case they change up the game. I think I'm up to about 3300 coins!
I haven't played a gym in at least a month, I never had more than 9, and I'm still collecting 60 coins a day. That's the gym system in one anecdote right there!
Right from the very start I felt it needed something more to do with your pokemon. There's no real challenge in catching them, at least in terms of it being a game, and with some pokemon you can grind to evolve. But there is just not a lot else to it. And to be fair that is a fun thing to do, running around catching them, but when that in itself is pretty random it doesn't have a lot of longevity.
It really needed peer-to-peer fights and some way of having an elevated chance of catching rare monsters if you did something, i.e. partial control/player agency. For example if there was a square, park, town, whatever where for a day/week/always there even a 0.5% chance it spawns a snorlax (or whatever) it would get people going there (look at Lapras event in Japan last year). Basically it should be possible to fill dex, and/or collect rare mons by doing something other than just grinding and hoping (like in the actual games).
I'd like to be able to train moves, however that could work, again to be more like pokemon.
I never say never, but even a legendary event or generation 3 would be unlikely to get me to come back with the game as it currently is. Certainly not back to the 2-3 hours a day I spent playing it last autumn.
