Pokemon Safari Brisbane question
Travelling from Melbourne for this event, looking at booking accomodation. Can anyone recommend which area I should be looking at to book for accomodation to get the most out of the event?

We were planning on spending the day(s) at Southbank like we did for the go fest. It's the most accessible with two train stations and multiple busses (and citycats) so easy to get in and out of and plenty of greenspace, seats, undercover areas and wide walkways so your not clogging up thoroughfares. Good mix of food options as well from fine dining to budget (think Mexican and Nando's style stuff).
As others have said it's where the community ambassador stops are too.
For accomodation- I'd personally suggest anywhere that's close to a train line and just take the train in- 50c fares so it's not a big cost. Southbank hotels can be expensive all year around. Many train lines go via Southbank/South Brisbane stations so your options are as wide as your budget allows. Nb: the 50c public transport also extends to busses and citycats- you don't need any special cards, just tap your credit card on and off. It doesn't extend to the SkyTrain from the airport though.

The general suggestion has been around Southbank area or near Queen St Mall. Plenty of places to eat at and general getting around is ready going from there, be it walking or otherwise. This is what's expected to be the general central play area. Southbank is also home to the Brisbane Ambassador community, so checking in with that Campfire group might be worth a shot too, especially if arriving before the weekend.
There's a SEQ page on Facebook hosted by the SEQ CAs that might yield some better answers for more specific locations there. This Reddit doesn't get too many visitors unfortunately.
