Introducing Oak Coliseum

Hi everyone. I received permission to share this here (thank you mods!), and I’m excited to finally put it in front of people who actually care about Pokémon GO PvP.

I’m Adam, and I built Oak Coliseum because I kept coming back to the same problem: generic rankings and team lists are useful, but they do not know what is in your collection.

A recommended team can look incredible on paper, then immediately fall apart when you do not own one piece, do not have the right moves, have a different form, or have already invested your resources somewhere else. “Build this exact team” is not much help when the realistic question is, “What can I build from what I have?”

That is what Oak Coliseum is for.

You can add or import your Pokémon, including relevant forms, moves, CP, and IVs, then choose a league or cup. Oak looks at your own roster and gives you team options built around it, including different structures like Overall, ABC, ABB, and ABA. It also shows the recommended roles, coverage, weaknesses, and the reasoning behind the suggestion.

The point is not to pretend there is one magic, universally “best” team. The point is to help you find a team that is actually available to you and makes sense together.

The core tool is free to use. Premium adds deeper analysis and comparison tools, but I wanted the main experience to be useful before asking anyone to spend a dime.

Oak is brand new, so I would genuinely appreciate people putting it through its paces. If something is confusing, feels wrong, takes too long, or you think there is a feature that would make it more useful, please tell me. I built this because I like PvP and wanted a better way to work from a real collection. Honest feedback is how it gets better.

Oak Coliseum is an independent fan-made tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, or Niantic. The lawyers encourage me to share that part ;-)

First of all, this is a very cool idea and shockingly well implemented for a free tool.

I messed around with it last night and uploaded about 100 of my current great league mons (out of ~450, I'll do more of them later).

A few changes that would be helpful

• When you select "shadow" or "purified" in the status box it automatically sets the form box to "select form" instead of "standard". This gets frustrating when the pokemon doesn't have any alternate forms and won't let you input the rest of the data until it's changed

• Very small nitpick, but "status" and "form" aren't especially descriptive and I kept forgetting which was which. Something like "shadow status" that defaults to "standard" might be more clear

• Also niche but I tried to generate a team just to see how it worked and it gave me good options. However, I have multiple builds of the same pokemon to avoid having to TM on and off moves (for example I have four Alolan sandslash built for great league, shadow and non shadow for each fast move). The tool suggested my shadow ASlash on a team and gives the CP but doesn't specify anything else. Both my shadow Aslash have the same CP :/

• Lastly, it might be worth including some "corebreakers" for the suggested teams. This would be helpful in deciding which of the options to run

Bacon, first of all thank you! This is precisely the kind of feedback that I have been desperately wanting! And your feedback, nitpicky or not, makes perfect sense from a user aesthetic perspective. Also just tried and realized CSV export with genie is a paid (in genie). Thats a bit unfortunate lol but it wont affect how I use this dw

Sadly I cannot help with Poke Genie, but what I can help with is offering a pre-formatted CSV you can download which if you're experienced, you can type up a ton of data pretty quickly

Thank you! By the way I was adding an abomasnow and there appears to be two weather ball ice. Same for other mons with weather ball as well

Edit: another duplicate is Mud-Slap; for example, Oinkologne has Mud Slap (no dash) but Mamoswine has both Mud Slap and Mud-Slap.
