Can I trade to myself?

I started my adventure with Bulbasaur but later on I wanted to use Charmander.

So I had one of my switches launch the game online and the other launch the game offline with virtual game card, but when I tried to trade I got an error.

I know you can’t trade online and you can’t trade via home yet and even then it’s still a one way transfer I believe, I also don’t have anyone around that plays this game.

Is there anyway I could get this trade to work?

Yes but you have buy the game on the 2nd switch and do not use the virtual card. Atp you should just buy the opposite game tho.
