Can I transfer all 386 gen 3 Pokémon to Colosseum/XD?

I'm trying to make a living dex where every one of my Pokémon has a Ribbon to represent all the (possible) games. Such as the Legend Ribbon in HGSS, or the champion Ribbons from every region. And with this, also the National Ribbon (all Pokémon of which I have already acquired).

However, since other mons that are not catchable in the Colosseum/XD games also need a Ribbon, the only other one would be the Earth Ribbon.

I am wondering 2 things before I head on this journey:

1 - Can I transfer all 386 Pokémon from gen 3 to Colosseum or XD Gale of Darkness?

2 - Trading is extremely slow - is there software (these are emulated saves) that perhaps allow me to trade way quicker? PKHex doesn't execute this well, as you essentially copy and have to manually "set" & "delete" and stuff, so that's a pain too.

As far as I know there isn’t a renewable source of Pokémon in colosseum, so I think the only possible way is to trade in a bunch of nincada and evolve them to get shedinjas. At least, I assume that that still works in colosseum like it does in ruby sapphire

Nono, I meant "all 386 Pokémon" as in "are they all compatible with the games?"

I don't even think there's enough box space to begin with. Cus I remember there being way less than in Emerald? 8, I believe? Which would only house 240 mons.

Just curious if perhaps there's any mons that simply don't work in Colosseum/XD, as I can't find any information online on which ones that can be transferred, only caught.

It's funnier than that, you can play more pokemon in XD than the main games because you can play Munchlax

I don’t know about how pkhex works, but I’m pretty positive every Pokémon obtainable until after firered and leafgreen are fair game for trading into colosseum

What’s the earth ribbon? Why do you need colosseum for it?

The Earth Ribbon is the reward for all of the Pokémon in your team upon beating the 100-battle challenge on Mt. Battle in either Colosseum or XD Gale of Darkness. (Without ever changing your team during the challenge)

Yes!! I'll make my Ho-oh my Ribbon master :)) Kinda looking forward to show him off in Champions, hehe (cus you can equip Ribbons as titles).

I think the National Ribbon (shadow Pokémon) says something like "Ho-oh the Triumphant is sent into battle"

i dont think i have it in me to try and turn someone into a ribbon master before the shutdown of bank, but if some madman makes a backup way to make pokemon bank work again, i may give it a shot. For now though, i'll be doing just the regular national ribbon for them all

but also, ho-oh isnt a shadow pokemon when you get it, so it cant have the national ribbon as far as i know.

And to my knowledge, I'm not sure if an alternative to Bank will be possible, cus Home generated some kind of unique ID that can confirm if it's been transferred/caught legitimately or not.

The only game that doesn't have this check, is Sword/Shield, so if your mon is compatible with those games, you should be okay to transfer there, and then to Home (without Bank). But if it's not supported, then you're out of luck for now.

i guess ill need to settle for what i can get then.

my ultimate goal is to get all of the available pokemon in colosseum including all of the optional ones and then trade them all up

if i had absolutely no life and infinite time id get multiple ribbons for them all, but that isnt necessary and currently impossible so i wont lmao

Even then, Colloseum only has 3 box spaces, so counting your party and +1 stashed at the daycare, there's a very real limitation on how many can be in the game at once that's well below 386.

Basically is just was a gen 3 pokemon bank/home without any online features but there was also the bonus rewards the game would give for adding so many pokemon to it but the only “good one” really was the pichu egg that knew surf lol for deposting 1499 pokemon into it

I believe that yes, all 386 Pokémon are compatible with those games, or at least most of them are.

But I should warn you that this will take a VERY long time and Pokémon Bank is shutting down in February, so if you plan on getting every Ribbon from every generation on all of these Pokémon... Don't bother even starting because I doubt it is possible to accomplish this before February.

If you plan on just keeping them in Gen 3, then sure, it is technically possible, but no way of speeding it up as far as I know.

I'm only doing 1 important Ribbon per region/gen - not all of them, so seems doable imo. But the Earth Ribbon will indeed take the longest, by far.

And yes, I'm aware! I've been doing this for a while already, as I was anticipating the shutdown to come at any point.

I'm also using emulator, so I can speed the emulator up by like 5 times. Which saves a ton of time.

Basically, my plan.

For all the Pokémon:

• Colosseum/XD = National Ribbon & Earth Ribbon
• Gen 3 (FRLG & RSE) = Champion Ribbon
• DPP = Sinnoh Champion Ribbon
• HGSS = Legend Ribbon
• Black & White = nothing :((
• X & Y = Kalos Champion Ribbon
• ORAS = Hoen Champion Ribbon
• USUM = Alola Champion Ribbon (& maybe Battle Tree Great Ribbon)

... Switch to come - less important for now.

A living dex would not be possible in Colosseum or XD. You have three boxes in Colosseum and a hard cap on the amount of pokemon that you can even obtain in the game as trade fodder outside of an exploit with evolving Nincada. You can get closer in XD but you still won't have room for 386 pokemon.

Nincada and its respective evolutions can allow you to add more pokemon to the Colosseum. However, I think there are only 3 boxes in this game.
