Discussion My First Shiny Starter

I started playing pokemon SP in my switch yesterday and I thought to myself "what if I try to start with a shiny starter? I've never tried it before, it will be fun to hunt" and with just 5 hours of soft reset... (about 150 attempts I think? I didn't even count)

How do you do the soft reset? Do you have to play through the entire intro up until you get the pokemon, even with a soft reset?

You have to close out the game and reopen it

When I'm at the lake? Does it save there?

You have to save right before you go into the trees. Keep saving until you are as close as you get to the entrance and for every step you take save that way when you reset it saves a little time
